Hey dear Hive friends, I hope you are all well and you have a great day full of positive experiences! In my new post, I would like to present a few black and white pictures for the #monomad challenge and hope you like my entry.

You can see here pictures of an ancient column which have been made of stone and bring out the architecture of the past well. Since ancient times, columns have been one of the most important parts of an architecture and an essential basis for the construction of temples and other buildings. There are five different styles of columns such as in ancient Greece the Doric, Corinthian and Ionic order and in ancient Rome the Tuscan and the Composite Order.

Columns can usually be divided into three parts, the lower part is also known as the base, the one in the middle as shaft and the upper part as the capital. The shaft is often decorated with different ornaments and the Capital has a different appearance depending on the style of columns. Pillars are also often represented in symbolism and mythology, such as the well-known Djed pillar in ancient Egypt and are symbolically often seen as a connection between the earth and sky.

Thanks for stopping by and watching! I captured the pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 and 55-210mm lens!
