G'day everyone,
Had a wander through the zoo the other day and stumbled across these stunning animal sculptures. Snapped a few pics while I was there, and after a bit of editing (turned ‘em black and white and added a soft vignette), they came up a treat. Thought I’d share the final shots and a few thoughts.
Rhino – Strong, Steady & Staring Me Down
There’s somethin' about a rhino that just stops you in your tracks. The sculpture had so much detail – the folds in the skin, the look in its eye – it felt like he might just start movin'. Took this one from the front to really show off the strength in his stance. Very cool, very solid.
Gorilla – Deep Thinker Vibes
This one looked like he was sittin' there thinkin’ about the meaning of life or watchin’ the zoo crowd go by. It’s a great piece of art – so expressive. Almost feels like you could sit down next to him and have a bit of a chat (he’d probably have better advice than most of us!).
Chimpanzee – Just Hangin' Out
The chimp sculpture had heaps of personality. The outstretched hand, the little grin – classic chimp energy. Loved this one the most, I reckon. Felt like he was about to grab your hand and pull you into a game.
Final Thoughts
I’ve always loved the zoo – not just for the real animals, but for moments like this. The way these sculptures are made shows real talent, and turnin' the pics black and white gave ‘em a bit of mood, don’t ya think?
Thanks for havin' a look! Let me know what you reckon of the edits – might print one or two up for the wall.
Cheers,
Colin
