This is the second part of a two part post about the Kaiser-Friedrich-GedƤchtniskirche in Berlin, Germany that i discovered on one of my morningwalks. Donāt confuse this one with the iconic Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church ruins, one of Berlin's very famous landmarks.
Hereās what the Wikipedia article has to say about it:
āThe Kaiser-Friedrich-GedƤchtniskirche (English: Emperor Frederick Memorial Church) is a German Protestant church owned and used by a congregation within the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. The church building is situated in HƤndelallee in Hansaviertel (a locality of Berlin's Mitte borough) near GroĆer Tiergarten. Designed by architect Ludwig Lemmer, it was built in 1957, replacing a former nineteenth-century building designed by Johannes Vollmer which was destroyed during World War II.ā Source

Weāre approaching the church building through the Tiergarten with itās gorgeous trees from the east again, but this time in the evening.

This time the main building is lit up on the front.

Hereās another shot without lighting from a dark morning on another day for comparison ...

⦠and a closer view of the open bell tower from the same dark morning and since we are already so close ...

On the center door of the main entrance of the church we can see a kind of dragon slayer scene and thereās a text carved in the door that says:

OK, letās get back to the evening shots with the lit facade and the moment i stepped back to take tthis shot i discovered the sickle of the moon and a bright Jupiter next to it right above the church. What a nice coincidence.

To conclude the post a bit brighter i have another shot from the east on that dark morning with a nice silhouette of the bell tower for you to enjoy.
Thatās it for this modern church dear monochrome lover.
May good light be with you on your photographic journeys.

In this second part I'll show you more dark views of this church. The first part is focused on much brighter views and can be found HERE if youāre curious, but all the pictures in both parts are totally #monomad for sure. I hope you enjoy them.

⦠letās have a closer look at the single very small circular mosaic window on the whole facade of the church with its pretty unusual symmetry of 5 which, strangely enough, is oriented in such a way that one could draw a pentagram with the tip pointing downwards. Anyway, letās have a look at the center door next.

So the carving is supposed to be a depiction of a devil then. Very interesting indeed, a pentagon/pentagram symmetry on the window and a devil on the door.
