Lo feo
Hay una canción infantil que me gusta. Teresita Fernández la escribió y la cantaba con mucho cariño. Su título es Lo Feo y trata sobre la belleza que se puede encontrar entre las cosas que no son bonitas. Habla de un basurero y yo no estuve precisamente en uno, pero sí en un lugar donde ser guardan trastos y cosas en desuso.
Allí capté estas imágenes y mientras estaba en ese proceso, pensaba en la canción de Teresita. Yo suelo sentirme niña cuando hago fotos. Juego, me divierto, hago de ese ejercicio un momento mágico, buscando y rebuscando en mi corazón. Me hablo, sonrío, y pienso también en las personas que amo. Veo siempre algún detalle que me recuerda a alguien.
Es por eso que he traído estas fotos hoy al #Monomad Challenge, con una canción, y también con mucha alegría, para que llegue a todos los corazones que necesitan eso, alegría, felicidad, fuerza e inspiración. Siempre hay belleza, siempre.
Ahora te preguntarás dónde fueron tomadas estas fotos, ¿verdad? Pues en la Revista Bohemia. Cerca del comedor para trabajadores está ese lugar de trastos y óxido. Aprovecho para mostrarte también una vista desde allí hacia la calle. Y otras fotos que tomé en el departamento de diseño y en el salón de redactores.
Hoy ese salón, que antes era muy concurrido, con periodistas tecleando en ordenadores, o discutiendo algún trabajo, está solo. No diré triste, pero esperando… quizás una voz. La mía, pudiera ser. Es que después de la pandemia, lo que impera es el trabajo a distancia.
Siempre bromeo tanto allí con mis compañeros y hasta canto. Hay una señora que labora en corrección, y cada vez que nos vemos hablamos en inglés. Súper gracioso, pues le digo: Dinorah, Hello, my friend, let's practice our English… y hablamos del tiempo, de las situaciones cotidianas y nuestras voces son la alegría del salón vacío.
Oh, sí… la calle. No lo he olvidado.

We have a darkroom and I don't use it
There is a children's song that I like. Teresita Fernández wrote it and sang it with great affection. Its title is The Ugly / Lo Feo and it speaks about the beauty that can be found among things that are not beautiful. It talks about a garbage dump and I was not exactly in one, but I was in a place where junk and things in disuse are kept.
I captured in that place these images and while I was in that process, I was thinking about Teresita's song. I usually feel like a child when I take pictures. I play, I have fun, I make that exercise a magical moment, searching and searching in my heart. I talk to myself, I smile, and I also think of the people I love. I always see some detail that reminds me of someone.
That's why I brought these photos today to the #Monomad Challenge, with a song, and also with a lot of joy, to reach all the hearts that need that, joy, happiness, strength and inspiration. There is always beauty, always.

Now you're wondering where these photos were taken, right? Well, at Bohemia Magazine. Near the workers' dining room is that place of junk and rust. I'll take this opportunity to show you a view from there towards the street. And other photos I took in the design department and in the editors' room.
Now that room, which used to be very crowded, with journalists typing on computers, or discussing some work, is lonely. I won't say sad, but waiting... maybe a voice. Mine, maybe. It's just that after the pandemic, telecommuting is the norm.
I always joke so much there with my colleagues and I even sing. There's an old lady who works in corrections department, and every time we see each other, we speak in English. Super funny, because I tell her: Dinorah, Hello, my friend, let's practice our English. So we talk about the weather, everyday situations and our voices make the joy of that empty room.
Oh, yes... the street. I haven't forgotten.
