After more than 30 days of relentless sunshine, it was inevitable that a serious storm would eventually strike. I sensed it the moment the wind picked up so fiercely that it became so difficult to move. I was still far away when the sky darkened suddenly as powerful gusts swept through. A massive, leaden cloud blanketed the whole village. It looked like a sudden nightfall; that reminded me of those sci-fi movies where a giant UFO hovers over a city, casting everything into shadow.
Somehow, I managed to flee just minutes before torrents of rain began to drench the ground. The thunder rumbled continuously for at least 40 minutes, with lightning streaking wildly across the sky. It was blinding and deafening—so intense, as it felt like the earth itself was trembling.
Here`s my entry for the #monomad challenge.
