Hail to the Hive!
After almost 10 months aboard Badger the Narrowboat we have made our way back to where we began our new life on the UK canals.
We are on our way to Wales and have turned onto the Trent & Mersey canal and the only 3 locks we had to do today were in fact the 1st 3 locks that we ever did. We must have done a few hundred in the last 10 months so we are a little more familiar with them now but I still remember how nervous we were about the thought of having to do them for the first time.
So tomorrow, as we continue along the Trent & Mersey, we will be venturing into completely new territory for the first time since June.
As nice as it has been becoming familiar with big sections of the canal network we are looking forward to exploring a little more, even if it is extremely cold now.
No more than 4 hours cruising a day now as my fingers and toes get too cold brrrrr. I’m not used to the cold after so many years in tropical climates.
So tomorrow, onwards to Wales. New Locks, new canals and more adventure!
