A picture's ability to tell a story lies in its power to capture a moment, convey emotions, and utilize visual elements to suggest a narrative. In my case, I have a strong emotions attached to my camera - a precious gift.
Some gifts are quite precious in life as it represent a deep connection, offer a unique and meaningful experience. I have the same connestion with my Cannon Powershot camera. It alwsys reminds me of some good moments of life. It was given to me with genuine care and consideration, reflecting the giver's love and appreciation. The thought and effort behind them make them special and memorable. I ownwd this camera since 2008 and still functional in every aspect.
I rarely used this camera to make #photography contents on hive. But it was used many a times at family function and get together. It always remind me of a special connection with a special person in my life. When it was given to me I treasured it like a precious item close to my heart. I even bought a Black pouch to prevent any scratches on it. The silver camera always appear shining even after so many days. But it left me heartbroken 💔 few days ago.
I took out this camera few days ago to click some cloudy photo. It is a rsiny season here and sometimes the clouds does appears too good to snapped. My mobile camera does not capture good long distances photos. I took out my camera to take powerful shots only to find it as shining as before. Like a precious item, i wiped it a cotton cloth.
As it was not used much, it is working smoothly. Every button functions properly. However, there is slight problem with the battery charger - it was not chaeging the batteries working. I bought a new battery charger from.the market, not to lesve this idle. But as soon as I start adjusting the photo mode, by rotating the crown on top, it came out. For a moment, It was like I lost my treasure.
The crown on top used to select the different picture mode from auto focus to portrait to outdoor to indoor to macro. It has the main function that allow to take good picture. It does not take long to get impatient. I was nervous and also gets emotional, after all many nice moments were attached to it and no one would like to see it broken. Unable to understand, I quickly went to market for a camera repair shop.
There was no one around, I even googled the entire area, but there is no repair shop who could fix the issue. I even went to a photographer shop to enquire about any mechanic to repair. After looking the camera from all angles and trying to adjust the crown he said, this model is outdated and it won't get repaired. As the parts are not available.
How could I explain to him, how close this model is to my heart. There are sentiments and emotions attached to it. There were many moment captured with it. How could I leave this broken?
It left me disheartened, as I never wanted anything to happen to my camera - my prized posession. But now there is no scope to get it repair. I keep them back to its place after snapping few shots from mobile camera. Surely I will miss my camera and stunning pictures it takes, but the happy thing is, it is still in working condition. I hope I will find a repair shop in future to get it fixed. But the memory of 18 long years is not going to fade away easily. The reason I choose the title for the post - "Snapshots of today, treasures for a lifetime 💖"
