Every evening, for about three hours, this particular road is closed to traffic. No cars, no bikes — just people. It’s a brief window where the street breathes a little differently. And clearly, people take full advantage of it. You can tell by how packed it looks — there’s barely space between people in some frames. But somehow, it works.

This was the view to the right from where i was standing. The town looked like it was sitting under a heavy grey sky. The buildings are layered unevenly, the rooftops slightly bent from years of use, and wires are strung across every possible angle.These aren’t made for Instagram streets. They’re functional, familiar, a bit messy, and full of stories.
जहाँ मैं खड़ा था, वहाँ से दाईं ओर का नज़ारा कुछ ऐसा था। शहर ऐसा लग रहा था मानो किसी घने धूसर आकाश के नीचे बैठा हो। इमारतें बेतरतीब ढंग से बनी हैं, छतें बरसों के इस्तेमाल से थोड़ी झुकी हुई हैं, और हर कोने पर तार लटके हुए हैं। ये इंस्टाग्राम वाली सड़कों के लिए नहीं बने हैं। ये काम के हैं, जाने-पहचाने हैं, थोड़े अव्यवस्थित हैं, और कहानियों से भरे हैं।
Move ahead and you can see the road brimming with people. Not in a chaotic way — just full. It’s a mix: tourists walking slowly, locals walking fast, fruit vendors calling out prices, shopkeepers adjusting tarps and covers after the rain. Kids in uniforms blend with college students and older couples. There's no clear flow, but nobody bumps into each other. People just weave through naturally.
आगे बढ़ो तो सड़क लोगों से खचाखच भरी दिखाई देगी। बेतरतीब ढंग से नहीं - बस खचाखच भरी। यह एक मिला-जुला रूप है: पर्यटक धीरे-धीरे चल रहे हैं, स्थानीय लोग तेज़ चल रहे हैं, फल विक्रेता दाम बता रहे हैं, दुकानदार बारिश के बाद तिरपाल और कवर ठीक कर रहे हैं। वर्दी पहने बच्चे कॉलेज के छात्रों और बुज़ुर्ग दंपत्तियों के साथ घुल-मिल गए हैं। कोई स्पष्ट प्रवाह नहीं है, लेकिन कोई एक-दूसरे से टकराता नहीं है। लोग बस स्वाभाविक रूप से आगे बढ़ रहे हैं।
The buildings in the background are close together, worn out in places but still standing strong. Most rooftops have water tanks on top, and electric poles have so many wires you stop trying to figure out where they lead. It’s not pretty in a polished way — but there’s a kind of comfort in how unapologetically raw it is.
पृष्ठभूमि में दिख रही इमारतें एक-दूसरे से सटी हुई हैं, जगह-जगह से जर्जर, लेकिन फिर भी मज़बूती से खड़ी हैं। ज़्यादातर छतों पर पानी की टंकियाँ हैं, और बिजली के खंभों पर इतने तार हैं कि आप समझ ही नहीं पाते कि वे कहाँ ले जा रहे हैं। यह दिखावटी तौर पर तो सुंदर नहीं है - लेकिन यह कितनी बेबाकी से कच्ची है, इसमें एक सुकून है।
