If you guys haven't been coming to 'The Kingdom' Discord, you are missing out on a ton of fun :)
Every night for the past 5 evenings, a few of us have been hanging out and watching the Revelation Now seminar series...
Tonight's live stream was all about the 10 Commandments....
And wow, what a session!
The presentation addressed the difference between the moral everlasting law (the 10 commandments) and the traditional laws of ancient Israel. But also went right to scripture and looked at verses from both the Old and New Testament that clearly showed (at least to me lol) how important keeping the 10 Commandments truly are in this day and age.
God never changes right?
So when he put these moral laws on tablets of stone, it seems to me that this means they are binding for eternity...
But hey, let's look at what our example did...
John 15:10 "If ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."
This is Jesus speaking. Not the apostles....Just thinking out loud here, but if we are followers of Jesus, and He kept the commandments...Shouldn't we do the same?
Would love to know what others think about this...
Some people say the laws were done away with on the cross, but this past seminar plus digging into scripture showed me that this meant the ordinances, the laws that Moses wrote...Not God!
Romans 3:31 "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."
1 John 2:3 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments."
Just blew my mind...
The biggest take away was when it was mentioned...We don't keep the laws to be saved...We keep God's laws because are ARE saved!
I loved that :)
This seminar series provides cool little study guides as well, that have really been helpful diving into the topics...Here's a study guide that goes over this topic...
Wow, this has got me so fired up and can't wait to dive into this stuff even more tomorrow night!
