So there's a saying I've heard over the years...
If your bible is falling apart, it usually means your life isn't!
I've had my classic Thomas Nelson KJV Reference bible for years. It was the first bible I bought on my own and it's been my go to for all of my Christian walk.
It's well used to say the least! I have so many notes over the years and it's been my trusted resource that I truly do love.
But the spine has started to go, and I can see that the pages are literally going to start falling out in the near future. So I decided it was time to get into the market for a brand new 'daily use bible'.
I have a lot of bibles in my home...Mostly though, they are study bibles in one form or another. As for a 'every day use' bible, I am picky. There are a few things I needed to have when it came to it, and finding the 'perfect daily use' bible has been something that has been a lot harder than you would think...
It needed to be KJV, it's my preferred translation
I didn't want ANY study notes in it, just scripture
Lightweight
A nice sized font
Leather or leathersoft cover
And I found it yesterday!
It's the Thomas Nelson KJV Large Print Thinline Bible! And wow, I'm on another level of excitement for this bible...
The cover is amazing, and while it's not genuine leather, the feel of this bible in your hand is unmatched. Very soft and not too flimsy when it's opened up.
The spin is fantastic, and it's only about an inch thick which means it's very lightweight. I love the 'stamped' design on the spine as well. It gives it's a fantastic look!
But what about inside it?
These Thinline bibles have the lay flat feature which means the pages don't fly everywhere when you open it up. Pick any chapter and it'll stay open flat as you read it.
The 11.5 point type is very easy to read and Thomas Nelson actually developed a brand new font especially for all their new bibles. They call it the Thomas Nelson KJV font Comfort Print and....They aren't lying!
It looks and feels great on the eyes, the print is dark enough to stick out and there is very little bleed through on the pages. It truly does make reading the bible a joy!
If you can't tell yet...I'm excited :)
Now it's time to put this one to work! Hopefully I don't need a replacement for another decade or two!!
