My mother is staying with us for the next few months. It's always a blessing when she comes out and gets to spend time with us especially her grand kids. And my wife and I are excited because we get to have some late night bible study opportunities with her!
(After the kids finally go to bed lol)
I've really been 'on fire' for the Lord recently, and it's amazing the ups and downs we have on our Christian walk. A few years ago, I was nose deep into scripture and couldn't get enough, then COVID happened. The world seemed to flip on it's end and my fire was dimmed.
Lots of prayer later, I'm back nose deep!
And one of the studies I love to do, and am trying to learn as much as I can from is the 2300 day prophecy and 70 week prophecy from Daniel 8:14 and 9:24-27.
I've been reading some commentary about the books of Daniel and Revelation to get an overview and understanding of it all, and recently finished this 400 page walk through, verse by verse of both books.
It gave me a good understanding of the books and all the lessons in them, but then it was time to dig into the bible and 'try' to walk through the prophecies with my mom and wife.
I found this timeline chart of the prophecies in a study bible I had, and printed it out so we could all follow along, but then my wife started to suggest that I actually draw and write the chart out on my own.
As she said, it'll help with us all retain the information!
Welp, I did my best lol
After a few times of going over all the dates and finishing the supporting scriptures to confirm the start date of the prophecies, I fell pretty good about my ability to 'teach' it to others.
That being said, this is some deep biblical study that in no ways have I mastered. So we plan on doing some recaps throughout this week and next, to make sure we all understand it.
Bible study man! I love it! And when we dig deep and stop being surface readers of scripture, it just opens up and the Holy Spirit truly does give you the light to understand it all.
It's been a very rewarding week so far in this home and one of the best things about having my mom in town...We can dig deep into the bible as a family :)
