It's not one of my favourite tasks.
Not by a long shot.
But it has to be done.
At least, if I want to eat, that is!
I'm talking about cooking, of course.
A girl's gotta eat.
And until I start making a truckload of money consistently, I can't live my not-so-secret dream of having meals out every day.
Or getting takeaway food delivered here most day.
Or having ready-made meals delivered each week.
Or, shock, having a cook.
Can you tell I don't like cooking?! Lol.
I'm sure it has something to do with being banished from the kitchen as a child instead of being taught to cook.
Or perhaps that I was forced to eat food I didn't like.
Or maybe that I was on a strict diet where I wasn't allowed to eat so many of the foods I adored.
Who knows exactly?
But whatever the reason, cooking is about #1073 on the list of activities I would voluntarily do given the option to do anything.
However, a girl's gotta eat.
And I'm very fortunate that at all times we have more than enough food in our cupboard and fridge, so I will not starve.
Very lucky.
Still, how to decide which things to make each night and what to put together?
Tonight, I decided that we needed to use up some leftovers.
I had a bit of this and a bit of that.
There were a couple of new things we bought the other day, as well as a few packets in the cupboard that were getting close to their expiry date.
So, I asked my new bestie*, ChatGPT, to help me create a meal.
I told it the ingredients I had and wanted to use.
I said I wanted a high-protein meal that was quick and easy to make.
It delivered.
I love that I could follow its directions. Do the bits I wanted and ignore the alterations where I didn't have a particular ingredient (or didn't want to use it).
And voila, 15 minutes later, we had this.
The best bit? It tasted great =)
*Well, clearly AI can't actually be my best friend. I think that role is taken by an actual, amazing human ;) But "Chatty" is pretty cool!
