My week got busy and I am late in posting to the RED contest this week! If you have five RED photos and would like to join in, do it fairly soon because the contest will be ending on Friday and winners will be announced on Saturday.
The red British call box is seen as a cultural icon throughout the world and this one is appropriately placed in a display of classic British motorcycles at the Batber Vintage Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham Alabama in the US.
These are two of the brilliant red birds that visit my backyard. The first is a Northern Cardinal which is a common sight, and the second is a Scarlet Tanager which I see very infrequently.
Burning bush (Euonymous alatus that turns a brilliant red in autumn. This shrub easily reseeds itself and is invasive. It is now illegal to plant it in several states.
This is the bridge across the lake in the Botanical garden in our town. The lake was formed when a gravel quarry was dug and then abandoned many years ago.
And red flowers! Verbena and roses are the two I chose to include.
