Greetings to you all my fellow colleagues on this special Hive students Hub. You reading yes you, you're special 🥱 smiles ðŸ¤ðŸ˜˜.
I want to share with you about my best Teacher ever!
Engr. Mangut, I don't even know how to start. Ok, let me start from here, smiles, back then in secondary school. Demonstration secondary school Akwanga, I camen in contact with this great and inspiring teacher. Though I become a student of his when I am in my Senior school. At first I don't like this man, infact almost all the students in my class lol. I am a science student. And you know science and much of work at hand always hmmm. Why didn't we love this man,he is very fast while teaching, he love asking too much questions of which you receive a hot knock on your head or a line mark swipe of cane ok n your buttocks not minding a male or female. Ummm we always scared when we heard of his presence no one wants to be a victim. He teaches Mathematics, Further mathematics, Technical drawing and Brick block laying/concreting. Ummm do you know what he always like coming to teach physics and chemistry should the teachers is absent or too engaged and deprived us of free classes, I guess you know how that feels!! He is a very serious and also he is a strict man, determined to achieve results and scheduled time frame. Very intelligent and sharp with a great I.Q too uh mmmmm.
Do you know what he was a part time staff but always meeting up with duty. At times he will run from construction site no matter how far to the school to finish up with his 45-75 minutes class and even request for additional time especially during further Maths class ohhh. Majority of the class always pray for period over hahaha. Sometimes we jubilate thinking his not showing up today for his class after we night have checked the staff room and the premises of the school and nothices his absent. Before you know from the window we will always see him either jogging in the hot sun, cycling or in his car coming hahaha. That time those that couldn't finished uh p with assignment will start to cry and find way out lol. We really saw hell ooo. Before his class he will ask individually seat by seat to resite any of the times tables number to him. Ooo come and see cry everywhere. Because of tense you will fail even at the simplest Value and he flogs at the buttocks. He said T Y T, meaning Touch Your Toes. To allow the your bum to come push out for the cane. So we name him after T Y T. Whe youngest T Y T is here everyone will run and be calm. Hahaha.
But not withstanding he indeed was training us for great task ahead. I dropped further mathematics for Technical drawing as required for my profession to be a Builder. And he was in charge of the subject, I also was his student on Brici block laying and concreting. That was when I enjoyed and see my dream coming true. Because I was not that good at further mathematics ii couldn't enjoy him there. But reversed was the case here. We his students are 5 and he really gave us the best. I realised he is a calm minded person here. He loves practicals and we do also. He always take us to site after every lesson on technical drawing and Brick block laying classes. He supported us whole heartedly. He loves seeing us grow. And now I was confused and surprised. Is he the same teacher who use to.flock nonsense out of us? Is he this same here?
Do you know I became his best student, he always give me some of his materials to read and go through after school. We only football together. Ummm oh my God. Weixwd cement together during practicals. We were glad and happy having him to be frank.
What surprised me the most was his trust over me. During my jamb registration. I couldn't afford a.cell phone then and I wan a novice when it comes to phone talk less old internet. Umm we were being directed to provide an email address for our profile creation uh mmm guess what, I don't have any of this. I went to him and asked for help. If I could use his email he didn't hesitate he grant me access. That was when I know he really wants me to succeed he always contribute to my success. Am I not Lucky? After all exams came and gone results came up and I made it. To study Building engineering/Technology at the University. I was so happy to meeting this great mind. He loaded my new memory flash with enough materials on Building to help me out in school. I was so happy. He gave me one of his taxt book as a gift. Uptill now I still make use of that book.
He, Engr. Samuel Mangut is happily married with two kids and a beautiful wife Margaret Mangut. He later left the school to full time professional engineer. He works with CHEC construction company. I missed him plenty. I am a builder in a making. The person who encouraged me and stood bye was my great Engr. Mangut. Thank you thank you Sir. For opening my eyes to this great opportunity of chosen this profession.
