Hello everyone! It's Saturday! Yay! Lately, I have been craving sopas, a Filipino food that I really enjoy having during cold weather or even on an ordinary day—usually in the morning or evening. So I decided to cook it as our breakfast. I really liked the taste of it, and it became one of my favorite foods. Do you know that I can eat sopas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Hahaha, I can survive the day without eating rice. Just Sopas! Same with Pancit.( Hindi talaga ako nagsasawa, kahit buong araw kung kainin yon.) So after I prepared the ingredients, I started cooking.
Ingredients:
Macaroni
Chicken
Egg
Cabbage
Carrot
Celery
Onion
Garlic
Oil
Ground Black Pepper
Salt
Magic Sarap (Seasoning)
Note:
You can add hotdog, but since we don't have stock, that's why I did not include it in the ingredients.
Procedure:
Bring the water to a boil. Add the chicken until tender and the egg until hard-boiled. (Pinagsabay ko na sayang oras at gas. Haha)
Remove the chicken and egg and let cool. Set-aside the water used to boil the chicken. We'll use this later.
Once the chicken reaches room temperature, shred the meat using your hands. Meanwhile, heat a clean large cooking pot.
Pour-in the oil. Once the oil becomes hot, sauté the onion, carrot, cabbage and celery for 3 minutes.
Add the shredded chicken. Cook for 2 minutes.
Pour-in the water used to boil the chicken. Stir and let boil.
Add the elbow macaroni. Cook for 15 minutes. Add more water if needed.
Pour-in the evaporated milk. Stir and let boil.
Add magic sarap, salt, and pepper to taste.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.
Share and enjoy!
As you can see, my son is so happy eating the sopas I cooked. He even said, Yummy! But I'm more than happy because, finally, I eat what I crave. Haha
So that's it for today's blog. Until next time.
