Hello! I'm writing this post to submit an entry to @lifescape-tribe's Lifescape Tribe Photography Contest Round 1.
In poetic backgrounds, the color blue is often associated with sadness and loneliness. Take, for example, the phrase "feeling blue," which means feeling sad or lonely. Contrary to that, today I will be sharing a happy memory I've associated with the color blue!
The year was 2021, and authorities had just loosened quarantine protocols. Because the pandemic had greatly deprived us of traveling, two of my closest friends and I decided to go on a nature trip somewhere south of Cebu.
We arrived late in the afternoon at our destination: Badian. It was the hour between sunset and night, when the skies turned a darker shade of blue. I believe this is what they call the blue hour. We savored the moment while it lasted.
The next day was when the real adventures began. We didn’t have a strict itinerary so we could enjoy the trip spontaneously.
In the morning, we took a short dip at the beach. I was wearing blue swimwear, trying (and failing, lol) to camouflage with the sea. We also borrowed a bangka, a small boat, and paddled our way across the waters.

It was so much fun crossing under a bridge, where on the other side flowed the waters from Kawasan Falls, a famous waterfall in Cebu.
I believe this area is called brackish water, where the river and the ocean meet. You could tell because the water had a different shade of blue, almost green. We spent the morning paddling blissfully, as if time didn’t exist.
In the afternoon, we visited Kawasan Falls, which was just right across from where we had swum earlier that morning, with only a short walk. This waterfall is probably the most popular among tourists, and for good reason! See the pictures below to see why!
Kawasan Falls is famous for its turquoise-colored water and lush surroundings, giving you tropical vibes whenever you visit. Swimming here is definitely refreshing!
Looking back at that trip always brings a smile to my face. It was one of those rare, pure moments where nature, friendship, and freedom intertwined perfectly. A beautiful memory forever painted in shades of blue.
Thank you for reading my post up to this point. I hope you have a great time ahead!
I'll take delight in writing for you again soon.
Love,
