I've come across the questions, how do I start a journal entry or what do I write in my journal on a regular basis. "Captain's log: star date ...." sounds in my head no matter how many times I hear or see those questions and I can't be the only one.
With the holiday break I decided to go back through my entires to see what my first lines are, how I start since I've never had a challenge with starting an entry.
I've mentioned that I write my journal entries like I'm talking to my best friend. But what I saw in my past entries was that I write the same first line every time: Good morning, Good day, or Good evening. Then I give an account of my mood. I'm cozy, I'm cranky, I'm bored etc. or news: You'll never guess what happened.
That's it. My first line is similar to how I might start a phone conversation with a friend. I guess this has kept me from staring at the blank page wondering what to write or where to start. Do you start your journal entries the same way or in the same style each time?
