(Quite a Lot of) Patience Required
If someone were ever to tell me that I have no patience, I’d reply that I’ve been following Splinterlands for years, dedicating time and attention to it, even while watching my assets lose value more or less constantly… I’d like to see if at that point they still wouldn’t admit that I actually have a lot of patience 🤣
And I imagine the same goes for many other players and investors, who dedicate energy to the game and hope that one day they’ll see their efforts rewarded with a nice overall increase in the value of all in-game assets!
It’s this thought, and the ability to keep writing posts here on Hive, that pushes me not to let go and to try to do a little better each time, finding new assets to invest in, selling those that don’t perform well enough, and trying to build a collection worthy of the name.
So now, in addition to owning cards and SPS, I also have a small stake in the DEC-GRAIN liquidity pool and a few thousand DEC converted into HIVE, waiting for a pump of this second token – a pump that actually did come, but which, due to excessive greed, I failed to catch in time…
My assets are therefore unchanged from last time, except for DEC, which I now own in larger quantities thanks to my rentals.
Cards
Using Peakmonsters, the value of my cards is currently about $147.
Last month the value of my collection was about $191.
A decrease of about $44, which is quite significant considering the total value of my cards.
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what caused this sharp drop in card value: perhaps the general state of the crypto market?
Tokens
On the token side, things are much more stable.
Currently the value of my tokens is $81.79.
Last month their value was $77.12.
A few dollars more, entirely thanks to the DEC I earn from renting my cards and SPS.
On top of that, I still have my usual reserve of 48.9 HIVE (converted from 10,500 DEC):
And a tiny stake in the DEC-GRAIN pool (obtained by investing 2,000 DEC):
Yep, it really takes a lot of patience
Seeing all these drops in value – last month it was the tokens that lost about $30 in value, this time the cards lost another $40… – is quite discouraging: it’s true, my strategy focuses mostly on generating DEC, and in that respect I’m doing really well, but how long before the devaluation of all my assets starts to reduce even the incoming flow of DEC?
The less cards are worth, the less convenient it becomes for players to rent them: proof of this is the absurd APR I’m getting, even above 50%... how long before many decide it’s better to just buy a card instead of renting it at a price so high that in two years you end up spending exactly the purchase cost of the card itself?
On Splinterlands, many players are constantly looking to maximize their profits, so at this pace I’m afraid that, unless there’s a trend reversal, my situation could start to worsen drastically, at least in the short term.

(Un Bel Po' di) Pazienza Richiesta
Se qualcuno mai dovesse dirmi che non ho pazienza, gli risponderei che seguo Splinterlans da anni, dedicandogli tempo e attenzioni, nonostante veda i miei assets perdere valore più o meno costantemente... voglio vedere se a quel punto non riconosceranno che di pazienza in effetti ne ho tanta 🤣
E lo stesso vale immagino per tanti altri giocatori ed investitori, che dedicano energie al gioco e sperano, un giorno, di vedere i loro sforzi ricompensati con un bell'aumento generale dei valori di tutti gli assets di gioco!
E' questo pensiero, e la possibilità di poter continuare a scrivere post qui su Hive, che mi spinge a non mollare la presa e provare a fare sempre un po' meglio, trovando nuovi assets in cui investire, vendendo quelli che non rendono abbastanza e provando così a costruire una collezione degna di tale nome.
Così, adesso, oltre a possedere carte ed SPS, ho anche una piccola partecipazione nella liquidity pool DEC-GRAIN e alcune migliaia di DEC convertiti in HIVE in attesa di un pump di questo secondo token - pump che in realtà sarebbe anche arrivato, ma che, causa un eccesso di avidità, non sono riuscito a cogliere per tempo...
I miei assets sono quindi invariati rispetto all'ultima volta, se non per il DEC, che possiedo in maggior quantità grazie ai miei noleggi.
Carte
Utilizzando Peakmonsters il valore delle mie carte risulta attualmente pari a circa 147 dollari.
Il mese scorso il valore della mia collezione era invece pari a circa 191 dollari.
Un decremento di circa 44 dollari, quindi decisamente importante, visto il valore complessivo delle mie carte.
Onestamente non sono molto sicuro di capire a cosa sia dovuta questa forte diminuzione nel valore delle carte: forse la situazione generale del mercato crypto?
Tokens
Lato tokens invece la situazione è molto più stabile.
Attualmente il valore dei miei tokens ammonta infatti a 81.79 dollari.
Il mese scorso il loro valore era invece pari a 77.12 dollari.
Qualche dollaro in più, interamente merito del DEC che ottengo dal noleggio delle mie carte ed SPS.
Oltre a ciò ho anche la solita riserva di 48.9 HIVE (convertiti da 10.500 DEC):

Eh sì, serve proprio tanta pazienza
Vedere tutti questi cali di valore - il mese scorso erano i tokens ad essere svalutati per circa 30 dollari, a questo giro le carte ne hanno persi altri 40... - è abbastanza avvilente: è vero, la mia strategia si concentra più che altro sul generare DEC, e su questo sto andando molto bene, ma quanto ci vorrà prima che la svalutazione di tutti i miei assets cominci a ridurre anche il flusso in entrata di DEC?
Meno le carte valgono e meno diventa conveniente per i giocatori noleggiarli: prova ne è l'APR assurdo che sto ottenendo, addirittura superiore al 50%... quanto ci vorrà prima che tanti decidano che è più conveniente acquistare una carta invece che noleggiarla ad un prezzo talmente alto da farti spendere in due anni esattamente il costo di acquisto della carta stessa?
Su Splinterlands tantissimi giocatori cercano costantemente di massimizzare i propri profitti, per cui a questo ritmo temo che, salvo inversioni di tendenza, la mia situazione possa cominciare, almeno nel breve periodo, a peggiorare drasticamente.
