Rebalancing My Collection: Monsters Out, Archons In
The rebalancing process of my collection has begun.
The last time I had to do this was to sell all the cards from the Chaos Legion set and buy new ones from the Rebellion one.
This time, however, my goal is to reduce the number of Monster-type cards I own in favor of increasing those of the Archon type.
As all Splinterlands players well know, Archons are essential for deploying creatures in battle: the Conclave Arcana set added only a very limited number of them, so the majority of those currently usable in the Modern format come from the Rebellion set.
It's on these that I focused months ago, shortly before the release of the Conclave Arcana set.
Today, those same cards have significantly increased in value, but their demand is still high, as also demonstrated by the data collected on the SplinterROI site:
Common Archons, in particular, are the most sought after, with the number of level 1 cards rented ranging from 58 copies of Zeddica to 93 of Dolfar Darflak, and that's considering only the rentals starting from the very first few days of the current Season.
Archons from the Conclave Arcana set come next, with slightly higher demand on average than those from the Rebellion set of the same rarity: Fithe Bladestone leads the ranking with 55 copies rented, dwarfing Nomos who stops at just 12.
The difference is also noticeable in rental prices, with Archons from the Conclave Arcana set earning on average 0.5 DEC more than rare ones from the Rebellion set.
All this, however, comes with a higher purchase cost: Archons from Conclave Arcana are quite expensive, and this affects the ROI they can generate.
In the ranking I shared above, in fact, the CA Archons occupy the bottom spots, while all the Rebellion ones are higher up—except for Avina of the Wolf, who is third from last, due to a higher-than-average purchase price.
What to do?
So, deciding what to do is not exactly simple.
Now that I've started selling some cards I can't manage to rent...
... I need to think about how to reinvest the DEC I’ll obtain.
There are two options:
- spend less to buy more cards from the Rebellion set, obtaining a higher ROI but remaining fully exposed to a set whose lifecycle has already started to shorten;
- spend more to buy my first cards from the Conclave Arcana set, obtaining a lower ROI but beginning a slow, yet inevitable, transition to a newer set that still has many years of life ahead.
One viable path might be to try purchasing Conclave Arcana cards using the "bid" function on PeakMonsters: if I manage to buy these cards for a bit less than their market value, the resulting ROI would be higher and in line with that of rare Archons from the Rebellion set.

Ribilanciamento della Mia Collezione: Fuori i Mostri, Dentro gli Arconti
E' iniziato il processo di ribilanciamento della mia collezione.
L'ultima volta che l'ho dovuto fare è stato per vendere tutte le carte del set Chaos Legion ed acquistare di nuove del set Rebellion.
Adesso, invece, l'obiettivo che mi pongo è di diminuire il numero di carte di tipo Mostro che possiedo in favore di un aumento di quelle di tipo Arconte.
Come tutti i giocatori di Splinterlands ben sanno, gli Arconti sono essenziali per poter schierare creature in battaglia: il set Conclave Arcana ne ha aggiunto un numero molto limitato, per cui il grosso di quelle attualmente utilizzabili nel Modern format provengono dal set Rebellion.
E' su questi ultimi che mi sono concentrato mesi fa, poco prima dell'uscita del set Conclave Arcana.
Oggi quelle stesse carte hanno visto aumentare parecchio il loro valore, ma la loro richiesta è ancora alta, come dimostrano anche i dati raccolti dal sito SplinterROI:
Gli Arconti comuni, in particolare, sono i più gettonati, con un numero di carte noleggiate al livello 1 che va dalle 58 copie di Zeddica alle 93 di Dolfar Darflak, e questo considerando solo i noleggi avvenuti nei primissimi giorni della Stagione.
Gli Arconti del set Conclave Arcana vengono subito dopo, cin una richiesta mediamente più alta di quelli del set Rebellion di pari rarità: Fithe Bladestone conduce la classifica con 55 copie noleggiate, facendo impallidire Nomos che si ferma a sole 12.
La differenza si fa sentire anche a livello di prezzo per il noleggio, con gli Arconti del set Conclave Arcana che rendono in media 0.5 DEC più di quelli rari del set Rebellion.
Tutto ciò, però, a fronte di un costo di acquisto più alto: gli Arconti di Conclave Arcana sono infatti abbastanza cari e questo incide sul ROI che possono generare.
Nella classifica che ho condiviso poco sopra, infatti, gli Arconti CA occupano gli ultimi posti, mentre tutti quelli Rebellion si trovano più in alto - con la sola eccezione di Avina of the Wolf, che si trova al terzultimo posto, complice un prezzo di acquisto più alto della media.
Cosa fare?
Decidere cosa fare non è quindi semplicissimo.
Ora che ho cominciato a vendere alcune carte che non riesco a noleggiare...
... devo pensare a come reinvestire il DEC che otterrò.
Le opzioni sono due:
- spendere meno per comprare altre carte del set Rebellion, ottenendo un ROI più alto ma restando ancora completamente esposto ad un set la cui vita ha cominciato ad accorciarsi;
- spendere di più per comprare le mie prime carte del set Conclave Arcana, ottenendo un ROI più basso ma iniziando una lenta, ma inevitabile, transizione ad un set più nuovo e con ancora tanti anni di vita davanti.
Una strada percorribile potrebbe essere quella di provare ad acquistare carte del set Conclave Arcana utilizzando la funzione "bid" di PeakMonsters: se infatti riuscissi a pagare queste carte un po' meno del loro valore di mercato, il ROI che andrei poi ad ottenere sarebbe più alto ed in linea con quello degli Arconti rari del set Rebellion.
