🐉 Back to the Campaign I Go...
created using Sora
Last night I returned to my Splinterlands Campaign because I wanted to play Frontier Mode 🛡️.
It turned out that in order for me to play Frontier Mode, I need to have enough Foundation cards to use during battles ⚔️.
And where do I get those cards?
Through Campaign battles. 😁
So I guess I’m not gonna be able to escape learning the basics, right? 🧙♂️
🧭 I Skipped the Basics Early On...
Although I did play Campaign mode on my first day with Splinterlands, I stopped at Chapter 5 because I was too eager to just jump in and start earning rewards 💰.
Right after Chapter 5, I went straight into playing Modern Format, which was okay…
But honestly?
That wasn’t the best way to start a Splinterlands adventure, you know? 🐾
💀 Learning Through Experience (The Hard Way)
There’s nothing wrong with learning through experience in Modern Format battles 🔥.
But unfortunately…
It’s a hard way of learning 🗡️.
Not because it’s just difficult (well… it is difficult 😅), but because what I’ve learned is this:
🛡️ Understanding the fundamentals is super important if you want to succeed in battles.
Why?
Because the fundamentals give you:
- 📜 The knowledge to make better decisions
- 🧠 The strategies to adapt in different matchups
- 🆓 And of course... free cards that you can actually use in your battles
So yeah...
Looks like I’m heading back to Campaign mode with a whole new appreciation 🐲
Gotta build that foundation.
Gotta train like a true warlock in the arena.
Victory awaits. ⚔️🔥
At this moment, I’m stuck battling against the Ogre 😭. I just can’t seem to get past this monster, even though I’ve tried several different summoners and monster lineups.
Among the types of monsters that seem to have an edge against the Ogre are those with high speed, since they can dodge its powerful attacks ⚡🛡️.
During the earlier Campaign battles, I was introduced to monsters with abilities like Dodge, Sneak, and even Life Leech—which is my favorite so far 🧛♂️. This Life Leech ability reminds me of the game DOTA, where there’s a hero with the Lifesteal skill. It’s basically the same concept: you recover health as you attack the enemy 💥❤️.
Right now, I’ve finally acquired enough cards to build a deck for Frontier Mode, so I’m gonna step away from Campaign mode for a bit. I want to test out the strategies I’ve learned and see how they perform in different game formats 🔄⚔️. Let’s find out if my experience from the Campaign is solid—and if I can actually recall and apply the tactics I picked up from there 🧙♂️🎯.
Overall, going back to Campaign mode reminded me how important it is to build a solid foundation before diving into the more competitive formats. The battles might be tough, but each one teaches something new that helps me grow as a player. Now it’s time to take what I’ve learned and see how far I can go in Frontier Mode! 🛡️🔥
