How are you guys doing? I after a month in that malta great I would say! Just yesterday I did a half-hour live on Instagram to show the many curious people who asked me about a part of Malta, the more touristy part, the area of discos, pubs and Casinos located in St. Julian. Beautiful, but too crowded for my taste, never would I have imagined so many people roaming the streets both day and night at this time of year.
These days it is about 18 degrees and out of 33 days of my stay I have experienced a good 25 of them in rain and clouds and the others in sunshine though not completely, today however is one of them. In the meantime there was also a storm, which did some damage, fortunately no deaths, although unfortunately one missing person was reported. Very strong winds that managed to bring sea water on the roads and not let you move, I was lucky, a slight flooding at home but then "Helios" moved on to other countries, including Syria, which was also affected by the earthquake.
Really a disaster that speaks for itself, my thoughts go out to all those poor people who lost their skin and not only that, I really hope that the survivors will be able to pull themselves together, these are things that mark you deeply. I must admit that I did not experience happy moments during that day and a half, we were very lucky to come out unscathed.
We have to look forward and hope that things like that don't happen again, it was the second most violent storm after the 2019 storm that hit the island, even then damage to structures, a few injuries but no deaths. There have also been two earthquake tremors since I arrived, honestly I didn't feel either of them, but my wife for example did. But let's also talk about positive things, she was able to find work practically in the immediate area as she expected, there is a lot of "recirculation" of work here, unlike some parts of Italy where it practically does not exist, in fact many people especially from the South move here, many of her colleagues come from Sicily.

Come state? Io dopo un mese in quel di malta alla grande direi! Giusto ieri ho fatto una live di mezz'oretta su Instagram per far vedere ai molti curiosi che mi hanno chiesto una parte di Malta, quella più turistica, la zona di discoteche, pub e Casinò che si trova a St. Julian. Bella, ma troppo affollata per i miei gusti, mai mi sarei immaginato così tanta gente in giro per le strade sia di giorno che di notte in questo periodo dell'anno.
In questi giorni ci sono circa 18 gradi e su 33 giorni di soggiorno ne ho vissuti un buon 25 sotto la pioggia e nuvole e gli altri di sole anche se non completamente, oggi però è uno di quelli. Nel frattempo c'è stata anche una tempesta, che ha fatto alcuni danni, per fortuna nessun morto, anche se purtroppo è stato registrato un disperso. Vento fortissimo che riusciva a portare l'acqua del mare sulle strade e non farti muovere, io sono stato fortunato, un leggero allagamento in casa ma poi "Helios" si è spostato verso altri paesi, tra cui la Siria, che è stata anche colpita dal terremoto.
Davvero un disastro che si commenta da solo, il mio pensiero va a tutte quelle povere persone che ci hanno rimesso la pelle e non solo, spero proprio che i sopravvissuti riescano a farsi forza, sono cose che ti segnano nel profondo. Devo ammettere di non aver vissuto momenti felici durante quel giorno e mezzo, siamo stati molto fortunati ad uscirne indenni.
Ci tocca guardare avanti e sperare che non capitino più cose del genere, è stata la seconda tempesta più violenta dopo quella del 2019 che ha colpito l'isola, anche all'epoca danni alle strutture, qualche ferito ma nessun morto. Ci sono state anche due scosse di terremoto da quando sono arrivato, sinceramente non ho avvertito nessuna delle due, ma mia moglie ad esempio sì. Ma parliamo anche di cose positive, lei è riuscita a trovare lavora praticamente nell'immediato come si aspettava, c'è molto "ricircolo" di lavoro qui, a differenza di alcune zone d'Italia dove praticamente non esiste, difatti molte persone soprattutto provenienti dal Sud si trasferiscono qui, molti dei suoi colleghi provengono dalla Sicilia.
