As promised this post is in continuation where I said that I would be sharing more details about Trinity ROCK & POP and the exam that puts performance first and different certification grades for students learning GUITAR. I have been posting my son LAKSH Guitar performances here on HIVE Blockchain and thought will share the next chapter which he has started to pursue which is tied to various certifications from Trinity College London. Here are the details tied to Solo Initials, the grades and the fees tied to each level.
Looking at a high level its not cheap and as you progress the fees becomes higher along with the difficulty level. Along with these fees defined above there is another Rs.2.5K+ I would need to shed at each level where the music academy United Strings will be helping to record THREE songs at each level as requirement for each grade to pass. So this is the recording and editing fees from the music academy at each level apart from the certification fees being paid to Trinity College London. Keeping the Fee structure aside for now, lets focus on answering this question::
Why Choose the CERTFICATION & ROCK & POP Category?
To be honest I did know a single thing about Trinity College London Certificate Exams. The United Strings music academy teacher gave a introductory talk about this music school and the certification program that it offers. Plus all the teachers here in the academy are certified from this college and that too they have passed the grade 8th level that itself is a big accomplishment for all the teachers. Hence this is a recommendation that students should pursue the certification as at later point of time these credentials will prove valuable in advancing their careers at a later stage. One can also mention in their CV [Curriculum Vitae] as part of extracurricular activities certified by Trinity College London. And now coming to the Why ROCK & POP Category? Then the answer here is pretty simple for Guitar one need to choose this category that starts with Initial and goes on to Grade 8 level. It is also recommended to complete the program in sequence no matter at what level you play the Guitar. Now coming to my interest as a parent the question was do I shed almost Rs.1 lakh plus which is close to $1.2K+ dollars here or not for the certification program? At first I was hesitant but then I asked my son LAKSH will he like to pursue the certification keeping aside the cost. He simply expressed his interest and that is where in the family we decided lets do it and not consider certification fees for now. Who knows how useful this might be for him in the near future? It’s possible that these skills, along with certified grades from such a reputed institution, could earn him extra points and even help him secure admission into a prestigious college, you never know. I have a personal example to share as well. I happened to learn a foreign language Russian for a year and earned a diploma in it. This turned out to be a stepping stone for me, helping me secure a job that paid a stipend and provided some extra income during my college days. Yes I still can read and speak Russian haven't forgotten it.
