Questa è una pseudo recensione di un libro o, se preferite, una vera recensione di uno pseudolibro oppure, forse, meglio ancora, una pseudorecensione di uno pseudolibro.

Questo interessantissimo romanzo d'avventura è stata la mia ultima lettura.
Fragrante, iconoclasta, presbiteriano e caracollato quel tanto che basta è sicuramente una piacevole sorpresa per il lettore che non conosce la poetica assolata e triste di Frangicapane.
Partendo dalle nozioni teoriche sulla coturnice, in particolare della Alectoris graeca whitakeri, la sottospecie endemica in Sicilia, sul suo essere uccello galliforme, sul suo canto melodioso e particolare, l'autore ci accompagna, tenendoci per mano, fino alla gestione pratica dell'allevamento, compresa l'apertura della partita IVA e come ottenere gli incentivi europei per gli allevamenti di fagianiformi edibili.
Struggenti i passaggi dove l'autore si dilunga nel descrivere come sia la coturnice che i ciukar, un tempo ritenuti una specie unica di uccelli galliformi, abbiano visto man mano ridursi il loro areale di potenziale diffusione per colpa dell'uomo.
Ma con l'aiuto di questo romanzo epico, si possono apprendere teoria e tecniche pratiche per fermare questo scempio e, seppure in un allevamento intensivo a scopo culinario, fermare la triste sorte della coturnice e bloccarne l'estinzione.
In appendice poi anche dodici ricette per gustare la squisita carne di coturnice al forno, in fricassea e in dieci altri squisiti manicaretti.

This very interesting adventure novel was my last reading.
Fragrant, iconoclastic, Presbyterian and prancing just enough, it is certainly a pleasant surprise for the reader who is unfamiliar with Frangicapane's sunny and sad poetics.
Starting from the theoretical notions on the rock partridge, in particular of the Alectoris graeca whitakeri, the subspecies endemic in Sicily, on its being a galliform bird, on its melodious and particular song, the author accompanies us, holding us by the hand, up to the practical management of the breeding , including the opening of the VAT number and how to obtain the European incentives for the farms of edible pheasant.
Struggling are the passages where the author dwells on describing how both the rock partridge and the ciukar, once considered a unique species of galliform birds, have gradually seen their range of potential diffusion reduced due to man.
But with the help of this epic novel, it is possible to learn theory and practical techniques to stop this destruction and, albeit in an intensive breeding for culinary purposes, to stop the sad fate of the rock partridge and stop its extinction.
In the appendix there are also twelve recipes to taste the exquisite baked rock partridge, in fricassee and ten other exquisite dishes.
