How to maximize the land plots usage: My early fall strategy
dCrops is an NFT-based farming game developed and built on the blockchain of Hive.
In the dCrops game, time is marked by seasons that are the same as in real life but have a duration of only 15 days.
At the time I start writing this post, on dCrops, the fall season is in progress, which started less than a day ago.
To date in my posts on dCrops I have shown and explained many of my strategies but I have never shown how I try to maximize the utilization of my Land Plots based on the number and based on the game statistics of the seeds I have available.
The topic of my post today will be precisely the choice of which seeds to plant and especially the choice of when to plant the seeds.
Those who have more plots than the number of seeds do not need to adopt optimization strategies.
Those who have more seeds than the number of plots need to adopt optimization strategies to try to maximize the use of land plots which equates to earning more shares points which allow to earn more CROP tokens at the end of the season.
In the following image you can see the number of NFT lands in my dCrops collection.
I have 4 Awesome Land = 12 total plots
I have 7 Fertile Land = 14 total plots
I have 10 Average Farmland = 10 total plots
I have a total of 21 NFT type Land and I have a total of 36 plots available.
With 36 plots available I can plant 36 seed-type NFTs at the same time.
In my collection I have 39 NFTs of seed type that I can plant during the fall season (see table below)
So I have more seeds than plots, and for this reason I have to establish an optimization strategy because in some plots I have to plant more seeds if I want to use all the seeds I have available.
On a single plot, only seeds whose total production time is less than 15 days can be planted in succession.
This means that the total production time of two or more seeds to be planted in the same plot must be a maximum of 14 days, and if the sum of the production times is just 14 days the planting operation must necessarily be carried out during the first day of the season.
For example, in the current season I have an available time of 14 days and 3 hours and if I plant in one plot and in temporal succession first 1 Pumpkin seed (12 days of production) and then 1 Lavander seed (3 days of production) I will be able to harvest only the crops from the Pumpkin seed after 12 days and I will not have the time to harvest the crops produced by the Lavander seed because the season will already be over.
With 14 days actually usable during a season, I have constructed a table to decide where to plant my seeds and in what time sequence to do so.
The first possible optimization is the simplest.
With only 3 more seeds than the number of my plots I could plant the seeds that take the most time first and then those that take the least time.
This way I plant all the seeds available to me but use only 2 plots 100% and have a total of 219 days of production time of my plots not used.
At this point I could buy more seed cards to reduce this unused production time or I could use Boosters to increase my fall production without buying new seed cards and that is what I decided to do today.
On dCrops there are Boosters which are consumable elements because they can only be used once.
Boosters are available for purchase from the SHOP->Boosters section of the dCrop website or are obtainable free of charge by completing Quests.
I do not recommend buying the Boosters using the CROP tokens because I made an evaluation in a previous post of mine and showed how it is a negative expected-profit purchase.
I might decide to buy Boosters in the future but only in case the CROP tokens increase their market value and only above a certain value threshold ;)
I recommend instead using Boosters received as a reward for completing quests because using Boosters allows you to increase seasonal production and earn more CROP tokens at the end of the season.
I have 81 Boosters:
- 20 Mystery Seeds
- 54 Speed-Gro
- 3 Ferti-Plus
Thanks to the Boosters I have at my disposal, I can evaluate and choose a strategy of optimizing the use of my plots different from the previous one.
This season I decided to use a portion of my Mystery Seeds to increase fall production.
Since a Mystery Seed once planted can turn into any plantable seed in the fall season I have to necessarily plant it early in the season because if for example I plant it in the middle of the season and it turns into a Punpkin seed that takes 12 days I will not be able to harvest and I will lose my gain in shares points and consequently will also lose my CROP token gain.
Therefore, in order to use my Mystery Seeds, I have to change the initial strategy and have to free up plots to use now at the beginning of the season.
If I decide to plant Garlic seeds and Carrot seeds in time succession in the same plot I can free 15 plots in which I can plant 15 mystery seeds.
Even though I could free 15 plots I decided to free only 13 plots because I want to use the other Mystery Seeds in the following season.
The only problem with this strategy is that I would only have just over 3 hours of total available time to harvest the Garlic seed, plant the Carrot seed in the same plot, and then harvest the Carrot seed before the season ends.
The probability that I might forget to do everything on time is really very high but fortunately there is a solution to this issue as well: the Speed-Gro booster
The Speed-Gro booster allows you to reduce the production time of a Seed type card from 10% to 50%.
So in my fall strategy I will also use the Speed-Gro boosters.
Tip: If you are a new player I remind you that the Ferti-Plus and Speed-Gro boosters must be applied in a free plot and before planting a seed-type NFT ;)
I now move from theory to practice.
I applied the Speed-Gro boosters to my 4 Awesome Land and one of my Fertile Land.
In the plots where I applied the Speed-Groo boosters I planted 12 Garlic and 1 Carrot and as you can see from the image below the production time for each of the planted seeds is less than 7 days due to the effect of the Speed-Gro boosters
In the 13 free plots I planted 13 Mystery Seeds.
The 13 Mystery Seeds turned into the seeds you can see in the following image.
With the combined use of the Speed-Gro and Mystery Seeds boosters, I have maximized the utilization of my land plots, and in the fall season I will get more production and reward than I would have gotten by simply planting my seeds sequentially in my free plots.

Optimizing the use of Land plots is an important activity for all dcrops players and especially for those who have a much larger number of Seeds-type NFTs than the number of available plots.

Come ottimizzare l'utilizzo dei Land Plots: La mia strategia di inizio autunno
dCrops è un gioco di farming basato su NFT sviluppato e costruito sulla blockchain di Hive.
Nel gioco di dCrops il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che sono le stesse della vita reale ma hanno una durata di soli 15 giorni.
Nel momento in cui inizio a scrivere questo post, su dCrops, è in corso la stagione autunnale che è iniziata da meno di un giorno.
Fino ad oggi nei miei post su dCrops ho mostrato e spiegato molte delle mie strategie ma non ho mai mostrato come cerco di massimizzare l'utilizzo dei miei Land Plots in base al numero e in base alle statistiche di gioco dei semi che ho a disposizione.
L'argomento del mio post di oggi sarà proprio la scelta di quali semi piantare e soprattutto la scelta del tempo in cui piantare i semi.
Chi ha un numero di plots maggiore del numero di semi non ha bisogno di adottare strategie di ottimizzazioni.
Chi ha un numero di semi maggiore del numero di plots ha bisogno di adottare delle strategie di ottimizzazione per cercare di massimizzare l'utilizzo dei land plots che equivale a guadagnare un numero maggiore di punti shares che permettono a loro volta di guadagnare un numero maggiore di token CROP alla fine della stagione.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere il numero di NFT Land della mia collezione di NFT di dCrops.
Ho 4 Awesome Land = 12 plots totali
Ho 7 Fertile Land = 14 plots totali
Ho 10 Average Farmland = 10 plots totali
Ho un totale di 21 NFT di tipo Land e ho un totale di 36 plots disponibili.
Con 36 plots disponibili posso piantare 36 NFT di tipo seme contemporaneamente.
Nella mia collezione ho 39 NFT di tipo seme che posso piantare durante la stagione autunnale (vedi tabella seguente)
Ho quindi più semi di plots e per questo motivo devo stabilire una strategia di ottimizzazione perchè in alcuni plots devo piantare più semi se voglio utilizzare tutti i semi che ho a disposizione.
In un singolo plot possono essere piantati in successione solo semi il cui tempo totale di produzione è inferiore ai 15 giorni.
Questo vuol dire che il totale dei tempi di produzione di due o più semi da piantare in uno stesso plot deve essere al massimo di 14 giorni e se la somma dei tempi di produzione è proprio 14 giorni l'operazione di planting deve necessariamente essere effettuata durante il primo giorno della stagione.
Ad esempio nella stagione attuale ho un tempo disponibile di 14 giorni e 3 ore e se pianto in un unico plot e in successione temporale prima 1 seme Pumpkin (12 giorni di produzione) e poi 1 seme Lavander (3 giorni di produzione) potrò effettuare l'harvest solo dei crops del seme Pumpkin dopo 12 giorni e non avrò il tempo necessario per effettuare l'harvest dei crop prodotti dal seme Lavander perchè la stagione sarà già terminata.
Con 14 giorni effettivamente utilizzabili durante una stagione ho costruito una tabella per decidere dove piantare i miei semi e in quale successione temporale farlo.
La prima ottimizzazione possibile è la più semplice.
Con soli 3 semi in più rispetto al numero dei miei plots potrei piantare per primi i semi che richiedono più tempo e poi quelli che richiedono meno tempo.
In questo modo pianto tutti i semi a mia disposizione ma utilizzo solo 2 plot al 100% e ho un totale di 219 giorni di tempo di produzione dei miei plots non utilizzati.
A questo punto potrei acquistare altre carte seme per ridurre questo tempo di produzione non utilizzato oppure potrei utilizzare i Boosters per aumentare la mia produzione autunnale senza acquistare nuove carte seme ed è quello che ho deciso di fare oggi.
Su dCrops ci sono i Boosters che sono elementi consumabili perchè utilizzabili una sola volta.
I Boosters sono acquistabili dalla sezione SHOP->Boosters del sito di dCrop oppure sono ottenibili in modo gratuito completando le Quests.
Sconsiglio di acquistare i Boosters utilizzando i token CROP perchè ho fatto una valutazione in un mio precedente post e ho mostrato come sia un acquisto a profitto atteso negativo.
Potrei decidere di acquistare i Boosters in futuro ma solo nel caso i token CROP aumentino il loro valore di mercato e solo sopra una certa soglia di valore ;)
Consiglio invece di utilizzare i Boosters ricevuti come premio per il completamento delle quests perchè l'utilizzo dei Boosters permette di aumentare la produzione stagionale e di guadagnare un numero maggiore di token CROP alla fine della stagione.
Io ho 81 Boosters:
- 20 Mystery Seeds
- 54 Speed-Gro
- 3 Ferti-Plus
Grazie ai Boosters che ho a disposizione posso valutare e scegliere una strategia di ottimizzazione dell'utilizzo dei miei plots diversa da quella precedente.
In questa stagione ho deciso di utilizzare una parte dei miei Mystery Seeds per aumentare la produzione autunnale.
Poichè un Mystery Seed una volta piantato può trasformarsi in un qualsiasi seme piantabile nella stagione autunnale devo necessariamente piantarlo all'inizio della stagione perchè se ad esempio lo pianto a metà stagione e si trasforma in un seme Punpkin che richiede 12 giorni non potrò fare l'harvest e perderò il mio guadagno in punti shares e di conseguenza perderà anche il mio guadango in termini di token CROP.
Per utilizzare i miei Mystery Seeds devo quindi modificare la strategia iniziale e devo liberare dei plots da utilizzare adesso ad inizio stagione.
Se decido di piantare i semi Garlic e i semi Carrot in succesione temporale in uno stesso plot posso liberare 15 plots in cui posso piantare 15 mystery seeds.
Amche se potevo liberare 15 plots ho deciso di liberarne solo 13 perchè voglio utilizzare gli altri Mystery Seeds nella stagione successiva.
L'unico problema di questa strategia è che avrei solo poco più di 3 ore di tempo disponibile totale per effettuare l'harvest del seme Garlic, piantare il seme Carrot nello stesso plot e poi fare l'harvest del seme Carrot prima che la stagione finisca.
La probabilità che mi possa dimenticare di fare tutto per tempo è davvero molto alta ma fortunatamente c'è una soluzione anche a questa problematica: il booster Speed-Gro
Il booster Speed-Gro permette di ridurre il tempo di produzione di una carta di tipo Seed dal 10% al 50%.
Quindi nella mia strategia autunnale utilizzerò anche i boosters Speed-Gro
Tip: Se sei un nuovo giocatore ti ricordo che i boosters Ferti-Plus e Speed-Gro devono essere applicati in un plot libero e prima di piantare un NFT di tipo seme ;)
Adesso passo dalla teoria alla pratica.
Ho applicato i boosters Speed-Gro alle mie 4 Awesome Land e ad una mia Fertile Land.
Nei plots in cui ho applicato i boosters Speed-Groo ho piantato 12 Garlic e 1 Carrot e come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente il tempo di produzione per ognuno dei semi piantati è inferiore a 7 giorni per effetto dei boosters Speed-Gro
Nei 13 plots liberi ho piantato 13 Mystery Seeds.
I 13 Mystery Seeds si sono trasformati nei semi che puoi vedere nell'immagine seguente.
Con l'utilizzo combinato dei boosters Speed-Gro e Mystery Seeds ho massimizzato l'utilizzo dei miei land plots e nella stagione autunnale otterrò una produzione maggiore e una ricompensa maggiore rispetto alla produzione e alla ricompensa che avrei ottenuto piantando semplicemente i miei semi in sequenza nei miei plots liberi.

Ottimizzare l'utilizzo dei Land plots è un'attività importante per tutti i giocatori di dcrops e in particolare per chi ha un numero molto maggiore di NFT di tipo Seeds rispetto al numero dei plots disponibili.
