on May 3rd I participated in the promotion of Splinterlands relating to the purchase of the Untamed Packs.
I bought 5 Untamed Pack and got a card as a gift: Halfling Alchemist.
Halfling Alchemist is a card from the Promo collection, is a Epic card and is a Neutral card.
- Has a low mana cost (2)
- Has 1 attack point (Ranged Attack)
- Has 1 life point and 1 armor point.
- Has a low speed (1)
A very useful card that I have already tested in battle.
It has a really interesting ability: Halving
Thanks to this ability when attacking he is able to halve the attack statistics of the card he attacked for one game round.
It has a really low mana cost and this advantage makes it a card that can be deployed very often on the battle.
The Promotion
The promotion is still active.
At the time of writing (May 6) there are still 1857 Halfling Alchemist available.
To participate in the promotion you must purchase a minimum of 5 Untamed packages from the Splinterlands Shop.
Important note: to receive the card it is essential that the packages are bought all together or in multiples of five.

What is the most convenient way to participate?
Let's see together what is the most convenient way to buy the 5 Untamed Packs.
There are 2 ways to purchase the packages:
- Using Credits
- Using DEC
Each package costs 2000 Credits or 2000 DEC.
So to buy 5 Untamed Packs you need 10000 Credits or 10000 DEC.
10000 Credits = 10 $
To buy 10000 Credits you need to spend exactly $ 10
You can pay with Paypal or with Crypto.
10000 DEC =?
For DECs the conversion into dollars is not immediate as for Credits.
DECs can be purchased on two different exchanges: Steem Engine and Hive Engine.
Let's do some calculations to see where it is cheaper to buy the tokens.
On Steem Engine 1 DEC it is worth 0.00416 STEEM and to buy 10000 DEC we spend 7.5 $
On Hive Engine 1 DEC it is worth 0.00219 HIVE and to buy 10000 DEC we spend 8.5 $
Is it worth participating in the Halfling Alchemist Promotion?
Now let's try to evaluate if it is convenient to participate in the promotion.
How much are the cards in an Untamed Pack worth?
It obviously depends but the PeakMonsters site has calculated an average value of each Untamed Pack.

If we do not have any potions when opening a package, the estimated average value of the cards is: 0.73 $
If when opening a package we have both potions the estimated average value of the cards is: 1.19 $
For our calculation we consider the average value which is 0.96 $.
So 5 packages will have an estimated value of 0.96 $ x 5 = 4.8 $
Halfling Alchemist is sold on the market at a price of $ 1.60
Conclusion
We spend 7.5 $ and get a value of 6.4 $ so the difference is negative - 1.1 $ but...
It may therefore seem unprofitable but only if we consider the worst case and if we have a short-term vision.
The value of 0.96 per package is an estimated value and we could be much luckier.
Opening 5 packages allows you to have 5 more possibilities to receive cards in future airdrops.
The price of Halfling Alchemist is low because almost 8000 cards have been dealt in a single day and those who have bought many packages want to sell the cards they have in excess.
I am convinced that its price will rise in the future.We may be lucky to find the Gold version of Halfling Alchemist whose market price is $ 42
- The small negative (-1.1 $) that we might have is compensated by the fun of opening the packages and trying your luck.
When you buy packs it's because opening the packages is fun and now it's a great time to buy packs and try your luck compared to the past.
It's like having a discount of $ 1.60 every 5 Untamed packs and therefore a discount of $ 0.32 per pack.
When the promotion is over, buying an Untamed Pack will cost $ 0.32 more.

il 3 Maggio ho partecipato alla promozione di Splinterlands relativa all'acquisto degli Untamed Packs.
Ho comprato 5 Untamed Pack e ho avuto in regalo una carta: Halfling Alchemist.
Halfling Alchemist è una carta della collezione Promo, è una carta Epica ed è una carta Neutrale.
- Ha un costo in mana basso (2)
- Ha 1 punto di attacco (Ranged Attack)

Una carta molto utile che ho già testato in battaglia.
Ha un'abilità davvero interessante: Halving
Grazie a questa abilità quando attacca è in grado di dimezzare le statistiche di attacco della carta che ha attaccato per un round di gioco.
Ha un costo in mana davvero basso e questo vantaggio la rende una carta schierabile molto spesso nelle linee di partenza.
La Promozione
La promozione è ancora attiva.
Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post (6 Maggio) ci sono ancora 1857 Halfling Alchemist disponibili.
Per partecipare alla promozione devi acquistare un minimo di 5 pacchetti Untamed dallo Shop di Splinterlands.
Nota importante: per ricevere la carta è essenziale che i pacchetti siano comprati tutti insieme o in multipli di cinque.
Ogni 5 pacchetti acquistati riceverai una carta Halfling Alchemist
Qual'è il modo più conveniente per partecipare?
Per partecipare alla promozione la regola è una sola:
Devi acquistare un minimo di 5 Untamed Packs e in un'unica operazione di acquisto
Vediamo insieme qual'è il modo più conveniente per acquistare i 5 Untamed Packs.
Ci sono 2 modi per acquistare i pacchetti:
- Utilizzare i Crediti
- Utilizzare i DEC
Ogni pacchetto costa 2000 Crediti o 2000 DEC.
Quindi per comprare 5 Untamed Packs hai bisogno di 10000 Crediti o 10000 DEC.

Quanto possono valere le carte in un Untamed Pack?
Dipende ovviamente ma il sito di PeakMonsters ha calcolato un valore medio di ogni Untamed Pack.

Se quando si apre un pacchetto non abbiamo nessuna pozione il valore medio stimato delle carte è di: 0.73 $
Se quando si apre un pacchetto abbiamo entrambe le pozioni il valore medio stimato delle carte è di: 1.19 $
Per il nostro calcolo consideriamo il valore medio che è di 0.96 $.
Quindi 5 pacchetti avranno un valore stimato di 0.96 x 5 = 4.8 $
Halfling Alchemist viene venduta sul mercato ad un prezzo di 1.60 $
Conclusione
Spendiamo 7.5 $ e otteniamo un valore di 6.4 $ quindi la differenza è negativa -1.1 $.
Potrebbe quindi sembrare non conveniente ma solo se consideriamo il caso peggiore e se abbiamo una visione a breve termine.
Il valore di 0.96 per pacchetto è un valore stimato e potremmo essere decisamente più fortunati.
Aprire 5 pacchetti permette di avere 5 possibilità in più di ricevere carte negli airdrop futuri.
Il prezzo di Halfling Alchemist è basso perchè in un solo giorno sono state distribuite quasi 8000 carte e chi ha comprato molti pacchetti vuole vendere le carte che ha in eccesso.
Sono convinto che il suo prezzo aumenterà in futuro.Potremmo essere fortunati e trovare la versione Gold di Halfling Alchemist il cui prezzo sul mercato è di 42 $
- Il piccolo negativo (-1.1 $) che potremmo avere è compensato dal divertimento dell'aprire i pacchetti e tentare la fortuna.
Quando compri i pacchetti è perchè aprire i pacchetti è divertente e speri di trovare una carta di grande valore e adesso è un ottimo momento per acquistare i pacchetti e tentare la fortuna.
E' come avere uno sconto di 1.60 $ ogni 5 pacchetti e quindi uno sconto di 0.32 $ a pacchetto.
Quando la promozione sarà finita comprare un pacchetto costerà 0.32 $ in più e il valore stimato di ritorno negativo triplicherà.
Io ho già comprato 5 pacchetti ma proprio adesso vado a comprarne altri 5 ;)
