Splinterlands is my favorite blockchain-based game and today it's been more than 22 months since I decided to sign up after reading many posts about Splinterlands published on Hive.
Since then I've been playing constantly and skipped only a few daily quests and after 22 months I'm still enjoying it as much as I did the first day.
Splinterlands is not just a static game but it's a game in constant evolution and the future introduction of the Lands will bring new scenarios for gaming and investment.

Splinterlands like all blockchain based games allows its players to receive rewards from game activity (cards, SPS tokens and DEC tokens) and allows them to sell and buy all the assets in the game.
This is why Splinterlands is not only a game but also an investment.
For the last 22 months I have always written a monthly report in which I consider Splinterlands exclusively from a financial point of view and not from a gaming point of view and so here I am writing my 22nd monthly report on Splinterlands.
Note: In the numbers in this report the comma "," and the dot "." are both decimal separators.

Final Result Previous Report
The starting point for each of my monthly reports on Splinterlands is the result I recorded in my previous monthly report.
The date I posted my previous report is August 11, 2021 and in the following two images you can see the Profit and ROI I have achieved in 22 months since the date of my Splinterlads game registration.
The results I got up to August 11 were really good results that I honestly didn't expect:
- Total Profit: $13310.82
- ROI: 2539%.
Now it's time to check if in the last 36 days my financial results related to my investment on Splinterlands have improved or worsened and so I proceed to evaluate my investment on Splinterlands until today's date and at the same time I write this report.
Evaluation of Splinterlands as Investment
(after 22 months)
Total Investment Cost
When calculating the sum above I only consider the costs incurred by injecting external liquidity into the game.
Since the date of my last report (August 11, 2021) and until today September 16, 2021 I have not put external liquidity in my investment on Splinterlands and for this reason the total cost of my investment is unchanged from my previous report and is 524.14$.
Income
The total revenue earned from my investment on Splinterlands is the sum of the following values:
- the sum of the market value of the Cards that constitute my card collection
- the gain obtained from the sale of the cards
- the gain obtained from the rental of my cards
- the value of the DEC (Dark Energy Crystal) tokens accumulated and not reinvested.
- the gain from the sale of DEC tokens.
- the market value of the plots that I have purchased.
- The gain from the sale of the Plots.
- The gain from using DEC tokens in a Farm.
- The value of the Splintershards (SPS) tokens I have obtained from the current airdrop to date.
- The value of card packs purchased but not opened.
How much is my card collection worth?
Manually calculating the value of my cards collection would be a very time-consuming operation, but luckily there is the Peakmonsters site that performs the calculation automatically within the My Cards section: https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/cards
The Peakmonsters site calculates the value of my card collection based on two different prices: Market Prices and List Prices.
To calculate the value of my card collection I always consider the lesser of:
- the total value using Market Prices.
- the total value using List Prices.
Today September 16 my card collection has a value of $23249.22
About 10 days ago the value of my card collection had exceeded $30,000 but then it has suffered a drop in value over the last few days. Despite this latest drop in value, in one month the value of my card collection has increased by +11632.21$ with a +100% monthly increase.
It's an amazing increase in value because it happened in a window of only 36 days.
What is the value of the DEC tokens I have in my wallet?
DEC tokens (Dark Energy Crystal) are the native tokens of the Splinterlands game, you get them as a reward for every battle you win in the game and you can also find them in chests.
The chests are received every day as a reward for completing daily quests and every 15 days as a reward for in-game achievements at the end of the Splinterlands season.
DEC tokens are utility tokens because they have many use cases:
- they can be sold and bought on HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex
- can be used to buy cards, potions, Spellbook (starter set)
- can be used in the DeFi platforms of CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/), UniSwap and TribalDex pools.
- can be used to pay for card rentals
- they count towards the current airdrop score to receive Splinterlands governance tokens (the SPS tokens).
In my in-game Splinterlands wallet I have a total of 97765 DEC tokens.
As you can see from the calculations in the image below, today September 16, 2021, 97765 DEC tokens have the value of 517.43 $ (Highest Bid on LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex)
Revenues from the sale of DEC tokens on Hive Engine
So far I have used my DEC tokens primarily to purchase packs of cards from the Splinterlands Shop and to purchase cards from the marketplace for the purpose of upgrading and improving my card collection.
On one occasion I sold an amount of DEC tokens to do a Power Up on Hive to increase my amount of HP (Hive Power).
On October 5, 2020, I sold 81000 DECs on Hive Engine and received 400.14 HIVE in return for a value at the time of sale of $64.8.
If I had sold the same amount of DEC tokens today I would have gotten a lot more....
How much are my Plots worth?
On November 21, 2020 I purchased 3 Plots at a great price: 7500 DEC per plot.
So I spent a total of 22500 DEC whose $ value at the time of purchase was 19.66 $.
Over the past couple of months all of the assets in the Splinterlands game have gained a lot of value and so have the plots.
Initially the plots could be purchased directly from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website and had a cost of $20 but they are finished since a long time.
Now those who want to buy a plot can only purchase it from markets outside the Splinterlands game such as LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex.
Today September 15, 2021, the lowest sale offer of a Plot on Hive Engine is 589 HIVE equivalent to $444.69.
This is another incredible result, those who bought so many plots really made a great investment.
A plot that was worth only 6.5$, on November 21, 2020, is now worth 444.69$ and only 35 days ago was worth 194.54$.
In my report calculations I will take into account the value of the Highest BID on https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=PLOT which is 559 HIVE.
The total value of the three Plots in my possession is 559 HIVE * 3 plots = 1677 HIVE = 1266.135$ (previous report value: 535.29$)
Farm DEC-USBD LP
I follow many communities on Hive and one of the most active is the Leofinance community (https://leofinance.io/).
Leofinance has created and developed a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform called CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/).
On CubFinance I use the DEC-BUSD LP farm in which I put 24000 DECs to work.
When I added liquidity in the farm the DEC tokens were worth much less than now and for this reason if I wanted to withdraw them now from the farm I would take only 10372 DEC tokens instead of 24000 initial (impermanent loss)
Until today the liquidity that I have put in the farm DEC-BUSD has made me earn 12,588 CUB tokens whose current value is $ 6,481.
The value of Splintershards tokens (SPS) obtained from the current airdrop
The airdrop of Splinterlands governance tokens is underway: the Splintershards (SPS) tokens.
The airdrop of SPS tokens has a total duration of 365 days and today, September 16, 51 days have passed since the start of the airdrop.
In 51 days I have accumulated a total of 5852 SPS tokens whose value is $1335.58 (image below).
Value of card packs purchased but not opened
A while ago I bought 100 packs of cards from the Untamed collection in bulk from the Shop section of the Splinterlands website, and as a bonus, I received 10 free packs of cards.
Out of 110 packs of cards, I opened 85 packs of cards and still have 25 packs of Untamed cards to open.
The value of an Untamed card pack on Hive Engine (Highest BID) is 45 HIVE = $33,975.
The total value of my 25 packs of Untamed cards is 849.37$

Now I have all the data I need (Total Costs and Total Revenues) and I can calculate the profit and ROI I got after 22 months of playing and investing on Splinterlands.

In 36 days the profit has doubled! Splinterland happily continues to surprise me :)

The ROI I had recorded in my previous report was 2539.55%. and now, after 36 days, it is 5106.44% (calculations in the image below).

Considerations
Splinterlands continues to surprise me and I hope it continues its growth trend in the future.
The result I recorded in this report is once again the best result I've recorded to date and surpasses the previous result.
I registered in Splinterlands when the packs of Alpha cards were already sold out and if I had registered earlier now the last lines of the graph of my profit would draw a straight line to the moon!
Splinterlands is a concrete example of all that a blockchain-based game can offer to its players:
- fun
- exclusive digital ownership of the game assets (tokens and NFT)
- many different possibilities of gain and investment
I don't have the ability to predict the future but my opinion is that blockchain based games will be the future of the videogames industry even if it will take some time before they can have a similar diffusion to the currently most popular centralized games.

But do those who sign up today still have a chance to make a good profit?"
I share my Splinterlands related posts that I publish on Hive on other channels as well with the purpose of promoting both Splinterlands and Hive.
I have often received questions similar to the following:
If I sign up today do I still have a chance to make a good profit or is it too late?
To answer this question I decided to do an experiment: on June 21, 2021 I dressed up as a new player and with my curation account @libertygame27 I spent 10$ to buy a new Spellbook.
With libertygame27 I started from 0 to see how quickly I would recover the initial cost of registration on Splinterlands.
In only 42 days and only thanks to in-game rewards (rewards from battles won, daily rewards and seasonal rewards) I recovered the cost of registration and made a profit of +7.5$ (ROI 75.5%).

The earning opportunities that Splinterlands offers.
In my experiment with the account libertygame27 it took me 42 days to get a profit of 7.5$ but I only played and did not use all the earning opportunities that Splinterlands offers to its players.
In addition to the activities strictly related to the game such as daily quests there are many other earning possibilities that allow you to recover the cost of registration in a very short time:
- weekly contests organized by Splinterlands on the Hive blockchain
- trivia challenge on Hive and Telegram
- giveaway organized by Splinterlands or independently by Splinterlands players
- SPT tokens
- ...
A player who signs up for Splinterlands, pays the $10 signup fee and immediately starts participating in Splinterlands weekly contests is making the best possible choice.

I also earned a quantity of SPT tokens (Hive's second layer tokens) with the same post.
On both Hive and Splintertalk (Hive's community), the author of a post receives 50% of the value of the votes they receive.
With one entry into a weekly Splinterlands contest, I earned:
- $4,903 ($9,806/2) thanks to the vote received from Splinterlands.
- 606.65 SPT tokens = 9.22 HIVE = $6.96
If I do the sum I get a total value of $11,863 which not only covers the cost of registering to Splinterlands but is also $1,863 higher.
Do you still have doubts?
If I wasn't a Splinterlands player I would become one immediately!
Are you not a Splinterlands player?
Any game that involves the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but it is also an investment and should be considered as such.
I am not a financial consultant and if you decide to invest in the game of Splinterlands you do it for your own choice, after having made your personal evaluations and considered all possible risk factors.
My advice is to always invest only what you can afford to lose with a light heart.

Splinterlands è il mio gioco basato su blockchain preferito e oggi sono passati più di 22 mesi da quando, dopo aver letto molti post sul gioco di Splinterlands pubblicati su Hive, mi sono deciso ad iscrivermi.
Da allora ho giocato costantemente e ho saltato poche missioni giornaliere e dopo 22 mesi ancora mi diverto come il primo giorno.
Splinterlands non è un semplice gioco statico ma è un gioco in continua evoluzione e la futura introduzione delle Lands porterà nuovi scenari di gioco e di investimento.

Il punto di partenza di ogni mio report mensile su Splinterlands è il risultato che ho registrato nel mio report mensile precedente.
La data in cui ho pubblicato il mio precedente report è l'11 agosto 2021 e nelle due immagini seguenti puoi vedere il Profitto e il ROI che ho ottenuto in 21 mesi dalla data della mia iscrizione al gioco di Splinterlads.
I risultati che ho ottenuto fino all'11 agosto sono stati risultati davvero ottimi e che sinceramente non mi aspettavo:

Adesso è arrivato il momento di verificare se negli ultimi 36 giorni i miei risultati finanziari relativi al mio investimento su Splinterlands sono migliorati o peggiorati e quindi procedo a valutare il mio investimento su Splinterlands fino alla data odierna e contestualmente alla scrittura di questo mio report.
Valutazione di Splinterlands come Investimento

Costo Totale Investimento
Nel calcolo della somma in alto considero solo i costi sostenuti immettendo liquidità esterna al gioco.
Dalla data del mio ultimo report (11 agosto 2021) e fino ad oggi 16 settembre 2021 non ho immesso liquidità esterna nel mio investimento su Splinterlands e per questo motivo il costo totale del mio investimento è invariato rispetto al mio report precedente ed è di 524.14$.
I Ricavi
Il totale dei ricavi ottenuti dal mio investimento su Splinterlands è costituito dalla somma dei seguenti valori:
- la somma del valore di mercato delle Carte che compongono la mia collezione di carte
- il guadagno ottenuto dalla vendita delle carte
- il guadagno ottenuto dal nolleggio delle mie carte
- il valore dei token DEC (Dark Energy Crystal) accumulati e non reinvestiti.
- il guadagno ottenuto dalla vendita dei token DEC.
- il valore sul mercato dei plots che ho acquistato.
- Il guadagno ottenuto dalla vendita dei Plots.
- Il guadagno ottenuto dall'utilizzo dei token DEC in una Farm.
- Il valore dei token Splintershards (SPS) che ho ottenuto dall'airdrop in corso fino ad oggi.

Quanto vale la mia collezione di carte?
Calcolare manualmente il valore della mia collezione di carte sarebbe un operazione molto dispendiosa in termini di tempo ma per fortuna c'è il sito di Peakmonsters che effettua il calcolo in automatico all'interno della sezione My Cards: https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/cards
Il sito di Peakmonsters calcola il valore della mia collezione di carte in base a due prezzi diversi: Prezzi di mercato e Prezzi di Listino.
Per calcolare il valore della mia collezione di carte considero sempre il valore minore tra:
- il valore totale usando i Prezzi di Mercato.
- il valore totale usando i Prezzi di Listino.
Oggi 16 settembre la mia collezione di carte ha un valore di 23249.22$
Circa 10 giorni fa il valore della mia collezione di carte aveva superato i 30000 dollari ma poi ha subito un calo di valore negli ultimi giorni. Nonostante quest'ultimo calo di valore, in un mese il valore della mia collezione di carte è cresciuto di +11632.21$ facendo registrare un +100% di incremento mensile.
Un incremento di valore davvero straordinario perchè è avvenuto in una finestra temporale di solo 36 giorni.
Quanto valgono i token DEC che ho nel mio wallet?
I DEC (Dark Energy Crystal) sono i Token nativi del gioco di Splinterlands, si ottengono come ricompensa per ogni battaglia vinta all'interno del gioco e si possono trovare anche all'interno dei forzieri.
I forzieri si ricevono ogni giorno come ricompensa per il completamento delle missioni giornaliere e si ricevono ogni 15 giotni come ricompensa per il risultato di gioco ottenuto alla conclusione della stagione di Splinterlands.
I token DEC sono degli utility token perchè hanno tanti casi d'uso:
- possono essere venduti e comprati su HiveEngine/LeoDex/TribalDex
- possono essere utilizzati per comprare carte, pozioni, Spellbook (starter set)
- possono essere utilizzati nelle piattaforme DeFi di CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/), UniSwap e nelle pool di TribalDex.
- possono essere utilizzati per pagare il noleggio delle carte
- concorrono alla determinazione del punteggio dell'airdrop in corso per ricevere i token di governance di Splinterlands (i token SPS).
Nel mio wallet interno al gioco di Splinterlands ho un totale di 97765 token DEC.
Come puoi vedere dai calcoli nell'immagine seguente, oggi 16 settembre 2021, 97765 token DEC hanno il valore di 517.43 $ (Highest Bid su LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex)
Ricavi dalla vendita di token DEC su Hive Engine
Fino ad oggi ho utilizzato i miei token DEC principalmente per acquistare pacchi di carte dallo Shop di Splinterlands e per acquistare carte dal mercato con lo scopo di potenziare e migliorare la mia collezione di carte.
In una sola occasione ho venduto un quantitativo di token DEC per fare un Power Up su Hive per aumentare il mio quantitativo di HP (Hive Power).
Il 5 Ottobre 2020 ho venduto 81000 DEC su Hive Engine e ho ricevuto in cambio 400,14 HIVE per un valore al momento della vendita di 64,8 $.
Se avessi venduto lo stesso quantitativo di token DEC oggi avrei ottenuto molto di più...
Quanto valgono i miei Plots?
Il 21 novembre 2020 ho acquistato 3 Plots ad un ottimo prezzo: 7500 DEC per plot.
Quindi ho speso in totale 22500 DEC il cui valore in $ al momento dell'acquisto era di 19,66 $.
Negli ultimi due mesi tutti gli assets del gioco di Splinterlands hanno acquistato molto valore e lo stesso è avvenuto per i plots.
Inizialmente i plots potevano essere acquistati direttamente dalla sezione Shop del sito di Splinterlands e avevano un costo di 20$ ma sono terminati già da diverso tempo.
Adesso chi vuole comprare un plot può acquistarlo solo dai mercati esterni al gioco di Splinterlands come ad esempio LeoDex/HiveEngine/TribalDex.
Oggi 15 settembre 2021, l'offerta di vendita più bassa di un Plot su Hive Engine è di 589 HIVE equivalenti a 444.69$.
Questo è un'altro risultato incredibile, chi ha comprato tanti plots ha fatto davvero un grande investimento.
Un plot che valeva solo 6.5$, il 21 novembre 2020, adesso vale 444.69$ e solo 35 giorni fa valeva 194.54$.
Nei calcoli del mio report prenderò in considerazione il valore della migliore offerta di acquisto (Highest BID) su https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=PLOT che è di 559 HIVE.
Il valore totale dei tre Plots in mio possesso è di 559 HIVE * 3 plots = 1677 HIVE = 1266.135$ (valore report precedente: 535.29$)
Farm DEC-USBD LP
Su Hive seguo molte comunità e una delle più attive è la comunità di Leofinance (https://leofinance.io/).
Leofinance ha creato e sviluppato una piattaforma di finanza decentralizzata (DeFi) che si chiama CubFinance (https://cubdefi.com/).
Su CubFinance utilizzo la Farm DEC-BUSD LP nella quale ho messo a lavorare 24000 DEC.
Quando ho aggiunto liquidità nella farm i token DEC valevano molto di meno rispetto ad ora e per questo motivo se volessi prelevarli ora dalla farm prenderei solo 10372 token DEC invece dei 24000 iniziali (impermanent loss)
Fino ad oggi la liquidità che ho immesso nella farm DEC-BUSD mi ha fatto guadagnare 12.588 token CUB il cui valore attuale è di 6.481$.
Il valore dei token Splintershards (SPS) ottenuti dall'airdrop in corso
E' in corso l'airdrop dei token di governance di Splinterlands: i token Splintershards (SPS).
L'airdrop dei token SPS ha una durata totale di 365 giorni e oggi 16 settembre sono passati 51 giorni dall'inizio dell'airdrop.
In 51 giorni ho accumulato un totale di 5852 token SPS il cui valore è di 1335.58$ (immagine seguente).
Valore dei pacchi di carte acquistati ma non aperti
Tempo fa ho comprato in blocco 100 pacchi di carte della collezione Untamed dalla sezione Shop del sito di Splinterlands e, come bonus, ho ricevuto 10 pacchi di carte gratuiti.
Su 110 pacchi di carte, ho aperto 85 pacchi di carte e ho ancora 25 pacchi di carte Untamed da aprire.

In 36 giorni il profitto è raddoppiato! Splinterland continua felicemente a sorprendermi :)

Considerazioni
Splinterlands continua a sorprendermi e spero continui il suo trendi di crescita anche in futuro.
Il risultato che ho registrato in questo report è ancora una volta il risultato migliore che ho registrato fino ad oggi e supera il risultato precedente.
Mi sono registrato a Splinterlands quando i pacchi di carte Alpha erano già sold Out e se mi fossi registrato prima adesso le ultime linee del grafico del mio profitto disegnerebbero una linea retta direzione luna!
Splinterlands è un esempio concreto di tutto quello che un gioco basato su blockchain può offrire ai propri giocatori:
- divertimento
- esclusiva proprietà digitale degli assets del gioco (token e NFT)
- tante e diverse possibilità di guadagno ed investimento
Non ho la capacità di prevedere il futuro ma la mia convinzione è che i giochi basati su blockchain saranno il futuro del settore dei videogames anche se ci vorrà del tempo prima che possano avere una diffusione simile ai giochi centralizzati attualmente più famosi.
In un post che ho scritto non molto tempo fa ho espresso le mie considerazioni sui giochi basati su blockchain e ho confrontato due giochi simili nel gameplay ma molto diversi nella struttura: Splinterlands e Hearthstone.

Ma chi si iscrive oggi ha ancora la possibilità di fare un buon profitto?
Condivido i miei post inerenti a Splinterlands che pubblico su Hive anche su altri canali con lo scopo di promuovere sia Splinterlands che Hive.
Ho spesso ricevuto domande simili alla seguente:
Se mi iscrivo oggi ho ancora la possibilità di fare un buon profitto oppure è tardi?
Per rispondere a questa domanda ho deciso di fare un esperimento: il 21 giugno 2021 ho vestito i panni di un nuovo giocatore e con il mio curation account @libertygame27 ho speso 10$ per comprare un nuovo Spellbook.
Con libertygame27 ho iniziato da 0 per vedere in quanto tempo avrei recuperato il costo iniziale di iscrizione su Splinterlands.
In soli 42 giorni e solo grazie alle ricompense di gioco (ricompense delle battaglie vinte, ricompense giornaliere e ricompense stagionali) ho recuperato il costo di iscrizione e ho ottenuto un profitto di +7.5$ (ROI 75.5%).

Nel mio esperimento con l'account libertygame27 ho impiegato 42 giorni per ottenere un profitto di 7.5$ ma ho solo giocato e non ho utilizzato tutte le possibilità di guadagno che Splinterlands offre ai propri giocatori.
Oltre alle attività strettamente collegate al gioco come le missioni giornaliere ci sono tante altre possibilità di guadagno che permettono di recuperare il costo di iscrizione in pochissimo tempo:
- contest settimanali organizzati da Splinterlands sulla blockchain di Hive
- trivia challenge su Hive e Telegram
- giveaway organizzati da Splinterlands o indipendentemente da giocatori di Splinterlands
- token SPT
- ...
Un giocatore che si iscrive a Splinterlands, paga il costo di iscrizione di 10$ e inizia fin da subito a partecipare ai contest settimanali di Splinterlands fa la scelta migliore possibile.

Con lo stesso post ho guadagnato anche un quantitativo di token SPT (token di secondo livello di Hive).
Sia su Hive che su Splintertalk (comunità di Hive) l'autore di un post riceve il 50% del valore dei voti che riceve.
Con una sola partecipazione ad un contest settimanale di Splinterlands ho guadagnato:
- 4.903$ (9.806$/2) grazie al voto ricevuto da Splinterlands
- 606.65 token SPT = 9.22 HIVE = 6.96$
Se faccio la somma ottengo un valore totale di 11.863$ che non solo copre il costo di iscrizione a Splinterlands ma è anche superiore di 1.863 dollari.

Ogni gioco che prevede l'acquisto di carte e di token non è mai un semplice gioco ma è anche un investimento e come tale va considerato.
