My Game Activity and Progress on Splinterlands:
Season Partial Results, Cards, SPS, Glint, DEC and my Considerations
+ The Importance of Speed in Battles
Another season of Splinterlands is coming to an end because there are only 1 day and 18 hours left until the end of the current season.
The previous season was a very positive season for me because I achieved all the goals I set out to achieve (getting to Diamond II in Modern Format and accumulating at least 155K GLINT.
The current season is not going like the previous one because after arriving very close to the Diamond II league I have slipped back in the Gold I league where I have a rating = 2720 and where I have accumulated only 96K GLINT.
The fault for this lower performance compared to the previous season is all mine because I have played fewer battles this season than in the previous season and I have almost always played distractedly because I have often had little free time in the last 15 days.
The evidence of my distraction is evident by looking at my battle log where there are often battles lost because, busy doing other things at the same time, I did not choose my battle formation in time.
On several days I also wasted energy points because I often started playing when the energy bar was at its highest.
To date I have played 228 battles and my win rate has worsened compared to the previous season.
For the next battles, I will try to play with more concentration and try to increase my season win rate to at least 50%.
If my season is not going as I had hoped the last two days have been very positive for the value of the HIVE token which passed a value of 0.3$ and then fell back to the current value of 0.25$ which is still a good value compared to previous months but is not a high value on an annual basis because on March 15, 2024 1 HIVE was worth 0.51$.
Splinterlands is a Hive-based game and any increase in the value of the HIVE token has positive effects on Splinterlands but also on the entire Hive ecosystem.
Personally I also consider a value of 1$ too low for the HIVE token when I consider the potential and the many utilities that Hive has but of course this is my personal opinion/assessment and not a financial advice.
As for my card collection optimization activities I am in a phase of complete break on the Buy side and I am focused only on selling the cards I don't use in battle.
So now for my cards my two main goals are:
- increase the amount of DEC tokens by selling the Chaos Legion cards I don't use in battle and by leasing the Untamed and Beta cards I don't use in my lands.
- accumulate as many SPS tokens through my gaming activity.
Today I have a competitive card collection for the Gold and Diamond III leagues of Modern Format but much less competitive for Wild Format.
When the new card set will be released the situation will be completely reversed because I will have:
- a competitive card collection in the Wild Format
- a less competitive card collection in the Modern Format
Playing in the Wild Format in manual mode does not make sense to me because I do not enjoy playing against bots and for this reason, when the new set of cards will be released, I will continue to play manually in the Modern Format but I will also play in the Wild Format where however I will also use a bot if Splinterlands does not find new in-game use cases for the old cards.
I am thinking of doing a test of using a bot as early as next seasons, could be next season but more likely the following season.
During the month of November I sold many level 1 Chaos Legion cards.
Today thanks to Peakmonsters' helpful filters I quickly selected more Chaos Legion cards to sell.
I put all my Chaos Legion duplicates cards for sale keeping only the higher level cards because I use them in ranked battles.
Regarding my Untamed cards, my most valuable card is Byzantine Kitty level 3 which has a market value (estimated but not real) of $217.
Byzantine Kitty has been my favorite summoner card until I could use it in Modern Format against real players like me.
Although reluctantly, I tried to sell my Byzantine Kitty several times and even lowering the selling price several times but I was never able to sell it.
I decided to keep it hoping that one day Splinterlands will decide to ban bots from Wild Format as well because on that day I will return to using my Byzantine Kitty.
In my opinion, this is a paradox that Splinterlands definitely needs to solve because one of the strongest and most versatile cards usable in Wild Format has no demand to buy it at reasonable prices and its value keeps going down because cards usable in Wild Format lose value over time because Wild Format is the realm of bots!
To buy Byzantine Kitty I spent about 250-300 DEC per BCX while today the value is about 50 DEC per BCX and there are only 10 cards for sale.
The old cards need to have utility back in play for real players who like to play on Splinterlands, the economic value of cards is a direct consequence especially of the play value (not monetary) of a card in a TCG!
I continue to hope that things will change before the release of the new set of cards but in the meantime the current combination of bots in the Wild Format + Wild Pass is a total disincentive for me to buy cards of the old editions because they are simply expiration cards for me and for any other real player like me who enjoys playing manually on Splinterlands because he considers it a beautiful game and not an idle game as it becomes by using and tolerating bots instead!
Regarding Splinterlands tokens, the token that has seen the best increase in value in the most recent period is the SPS token, which has crossed the $0.01 threshold and is now worth $0.0105.
I continue to accumulate SPS tokens and continue staking them.
In my in-game wallet I have 108276 SPS staked.
Thanks to the amount of staked SPS in my possession:
- I have a Glint boost = 11.44 (Modern Format's Gold I league).
- I receive 19.49 SPS + 2.30 VOUCHER per day = $0.23
A small part of the SPS tokens I earn from my gaming activity and from the production of my 3 land plots I use to add liquidity in the pool PKM:SPS where I have:
- 3340 SPS
- 18170 PKM
My main source of SPS token accumulation is my playing activity in the Modern Format.
In fact, in the previous season I earned a total of 1346.92 SPS and 896.36 SPS I earned them from my victories in ranked battles.
I will end this post by showing one of my latest battles that is helpful in showing the importance of speed in Splinterlands battles.
In this battle the ruleset was Need for Speed and I chose to use particularly fast cards and especially chose to use:
- 2 cards with the Swiftness ability.
- 1 summoner that reduces the speed of enemy cards.
On Splinterlands the speed of monster cards is important because faster cards attack first and also have a higher chance of avoiding attacks from less fast cards.
My strategy worked well in this battle because my opponent's most dangerous card, Diemonshark, missed two attacks before being eliminated.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi su Splinterlands e le mie considerazioni
Un'altra stagione di Splinterlands sta per terminare perchè mancano solo 1 giorno e 18 ore alla fine della stagione in corso.
La precedente stagione è stata una stagione molto positiva per me perchè ho raggiunto tutti gli obiettivi che mi ero posto di raggiungere (arrivare in Diamond II nel Modern Format e accumulare almeno 155K GLINT.
La stagione in corso non sta andando come la precedente perchè dopo essere arrivato molto vicino alla lega Diamond II sono scivolato indietro nella lega Gold I dove ho un punteggio di rating = 2720 e dove ho accumulato solo 96K GLINT.
La colpa di questo peggioramento di risultati rispetto alla stagione precedente è tutta la mia perchè in questa stagione ho giocato un numero minore di battaglie rispetto alla stagione precedente e ho giocato quasi sempre in modo distratto perchè ho avuto spesso poco tempo libero negli ultimi 15 giorni.
La dimostrazione della mia distrazione è evidente guardando il mio battle log dove ci sono spesso battaglie perse perchè, indaffarato a fare altre cose contemporaneamente, non ho fatto in tempo a scegliere la mia formazione di battaglia.
In diversi giorni ho anche sprecato punti energia perchè ho spesso iniziato a giocare quando la barra dell'energia era al massimo.
Fino ad oggi ho giocato 228 battaglie e il mio win rate è peggiorato rispetto alla stagione precedente.
Per le prossime battaglie cercherò di giocare con maggiore concentrazione e cercherò di far aumentare il mio win rate stagionale almeno al 50%.
Se la mia stagione non sta andando come speravo gli ultimi due giorni sono stati molto positivi per il valore del token HIVE che ha superato un valore di 0.3$ per poi riscendere al valore attuale di 0.25$ che è comunque un buon valore rispetto ai mesi precedenti ma non è un valore alto su base annuale perchè il 15 marzo 2024 1 HIVE valeva 0.51$.
Splinterlands è un Hive-based game e ogni aumento di valore del token HIVE ha effetti positivi su Splinterlands ma anche su tutto l'ecosistema di Hive.
Personalmente considero anche un valore di 1$ un valore troppo basso per il token HIVE se considero il potenziale e le tante utilità che ha Hive ma ovviamente questa è la mia personale opinione/valutazione e non è un consiglio finanziario.
Per quanto riguarda la mia attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte sono in una fase di completa pausa lato Buy e sono focalizzato solo sulla vendita delle carte che non uso in battaglia.
Quindi adesso per le mie carte i miei due obiettivi principali sono:
- aumentare il quantitativo di token DEC vendendo le carte Chaos Legion che non utilizzo in battaglia e mettendo a noleggio le carte Untamed e Beta che non utilizzo nelle mie lands.
- accumulare il maggior numero di token SPS tramite la mia attività di gioco.
Oggi ho una collezione di carte competitiva per le leghe Gold e Diamond III del Modern Format e poco competitiva per il Wild Format.
Quando il nuovo set di carte sarà rilasciato la situazione sarà completamente ribaltata perchè avrò:
- una collezione di carte competitiva nel Wild Format
- una collezione di carte poco competitiva nel Modern Format
Giocare nel Wild Format in modo manuale non ha senso per me perchè non mi diverto contro i bots e per questo motivo, quando sarà rilasciato il nuovo set di carte, continuerò a giocare manualmente nel Modern Format ma giocherò anche nel Wild Format dove però utilizzerò anche io un bot se Splinterlands non troverà nuovi casi d'uso in-game per le vecchie carte.
Sto pensando di fare un test di utilizzo di un bot già a partire dalle prossime stagioni, potrebbe essere la prossima stagione ma più probabilmente la successiva stagione.
Durante il mese di novembre ho venduto molte carte Chaos Legion di livello 1.
Oggi grazie agli utili filtri di Peakmonsters ho selezionato velocemente altre carte Chaos Legion da vendere.
Ho messo in vendita tutte le miei carte Chaos Legion duplicates mantenendo solo le carte di livello più alto perchè le utilizzo nelle ranked battles.
Per quanto riguarda le mie carte Untamed, la mia carta di maggior valore è Byzantine Kitty di livello 3 che ha un valore di mercato (stimato ma non reale) di 217$.
Byzantine Kitty è stata la mia carta evocatore preferita fino a quando ho potuto utilizzarla nel Modern Format contro giocatori reali come me.
Anche se a malincuore ho provato a vendere la mia Byzantine Kitty più volte e abbassando anche più volte il prezzo di vendita ma non sono mai riuscito a venderla.
Ho deciso di tenerla sperando che un giorno Splinterlands decida di bannare i bots anche dal Wild Format perchè quel giorno ritornerò ad utilizzare la mia Byzantine Kitty.
Secondo me questo è un paradosso che Splinterlands deve assolutamente risolvere perchè una delle carte più forti e versatili utilizzabile nel Wild Format non ha richieste di acquisto a prezzi ragionevoli e il suo valore continua a scendere perchè le carte utilizzabili nel Wild Format perdono valore con il passare del tempo perchè il Wild Format è il regno dei bots!
Per acquistare Byzantine Kitty ho speso circa 250-300 DEC a BCX mentre oggi il valore è di circa 50 DEC per BCX e ci sono solo 10 carte in vendita.
Le vecchie carte hanno bisogno di riavere utilità in gioco per i giocatori reali che amano giocare su Splinterlands, il valore economico delle carte è una diretta conseguenza soprattutto del valore di gioco (non monetario) di una carta in un TCG!
Continuo a sperare che le cose cambino prima del rilascio del nuovo set di carte ma nel frattempo l'attuale combinazione bots nel Wild Format + Wild Pass è un totale disincentivo per me ad acquistare le carte delle vecchie edizioni perchè semplicemente sono carte a scadenza per me e per qualsiasi altro giocatore reale come me che si diverte a giocare manualmente su Splinterlands perchè lo considera un bellissimo gioco e non un idle game come invece diventa usando e tollerando i bots!
Per quanto riguarda i token di Splinterlands il token che ha registrato il miglior aumento di valore nel più recente periodo è il token SPS che ha superato la soglia di 0.01$ e oggi vale 0.0105$.
Io continuo ad accumulare i token SPS e continuo a metterli in staking.

Concludo questo post mostrando una delle mie ultime battaglie che è utile perchè mostra l'importanza della velocità nelle battaglie di Splinterlands.
In questa battaglia la ruleset era Need for Speed e io ho scelto di utilizzare carte particolarmente veloci e soprattutto ho scelto di utilizzare:
- 2 carte con l'abilità Swiftness
- 1 evocatore che riduce la velocità delle carte nemiche.
Su Splinterlands la velocità delle carte mostro è importante perchè le carte più veloci attaccano per prime e hanno anche una maggiore probabilità di evitare gli attacchi provenienti da carte meno veloci.
La mia strategia ha funzionato bene in questa battaglia perchè la carta più pericolosa del mio avversario, Diemonshark, ha missato due attacchi prima di essere eliminata.
