What is the immediately monetizable value of a quantity of Hive Engine tokens?
The Hive blockchain has two main tokens, HIVE and HBD and also has many second-level tokens that are also called Hive Engine tokens because they were initially manageable only by Hive Engine.
Today there are so many tools and so many services that allow you to manage and convert Hive Engine tokens.
To manage my Hive Engine tokens I use:
Today while looking at my Hive Engine wallet I noticed a quantity of tokens in my possession whose dollar value indicated by Hive Engine was very high but was actually very low and therefore I decided to write this post to help new users understand what is the real monetary value of a quantity of Hive Engine tokens.
In my Hive Engine wallet I have 467,359,352.07 BUDSX and the USD Value indicated by Hive Engine is 1337.99$.
Does this mean that can I sell these tokens to earn $1337.99 in SWAP.HIVE?
Absolutely not
Hive Engine indicates an absolutely estimated dollar value because it considers the Last Price value.
The Last Price is the value at which a token was sold in the last purchase transaction.
But if I put my BUDX tokens up for sale at the same price will I be able to sell them?
A few hours ago I put 1 million BUDX tokens for sale but no one bought them!
The Last Price value can be a relative good indicator for tokens that have:
- a small distance between the Highest Bid and Lowest Ask values
- an average large daily trading volume
- many bids capable of covering the sale of many tokens
This is the case for the DEC token.
The Last Price value is not a good indicator for tokens that have very few bids to buy or no bids to buy.
A token that has no purchase offers is simply a token that no one wants to buy!
A token that has many purchase offers is simply a token that many people want to buy even if at a value lower than the best purchase offer.
If you are a new user of Hive and want to purchase a Hive Engine token you should always pay much more attention and give more importance to the buy bids present.
The Depth chart visually shows you the order book from which you can understand at a glance whether a token is in demand or not.
The BUDX token Depth chart clearly shows that so many people want to sell BUDX tokens and so few want to buy it at a price much lower than the sale offers.
So if I wanted to monetize and sell my BUDX tokens immediately, I could sell:
- 479458.49999999 BUDX and receive 0.00958917 SWAP.HIVE
- 1434419.32513810 BUDX and receive 0.01434419 SWAP.HIVE
I would be left with 465445475 BUDX which I cannot sell immediately because there are no offers to buy.
So my 467359352.07 BUDX is not worth $1337 but much much much less.
Another quick way to see how many swap.hive you can receive if you sell a certain amount of Hive Engine tokens is to use the SWAP feature of Hive Keychain.
If I try to SWAP 467359352.07 BUDX into SWAP.HIVE I get an error message because there is not enough volume to SWAP.
If I try to SWAP the same amount of token 467359352.07 but enter DEC instead of BUDSX Hive Keychain it shows me that this operation is executable.
I will conclude this post by showing what happens to the dollar value of my BUDSXs shown in my Hive Engine wallet if I sell 100 BUDXs at the value of the best purchase offer on the market.

But the real immediately monetized value is much lower!
If you are a new Hive user and if you want to acquire a Hive Engine token you should always consider first:
- the use cases of that token
- who created that token
- read up about the project to which the token is related to
- you must not give weight to the Last Price value but you must give weight to the purchase offers in the marketplace
The real immediately monetizable monetary value of an amount of Hive Engine token is given by the sum of the purchase offers that can cover the amount of token you want to sell.

Oggi guardando il mio Hive Engine wallet ho notato un quantitativo di token in mio possesso il cui valore in dollari indicato da Hive Engine è molto molto alto ma in realtà è molto molto basso e per questo motivo ho pensato di scrivere questo post per aiutare i nuovi utenti a capire qual'è il valore monetario reale di un quantitativo di Hive Engine token.
Nel mio Hive Engine wallet ho 467,359,352.07 BUDSX e l'USD Value indicato da Hive Engine è 1337.99$.
Questo vuol dire che posso vendere questi token per guadagnare 1337.99$ in SWAP.HIVE?
Assolutamente no!
Hive Engine indica un valore in dollari assolutamente stimato perchè considera il valore Last Price
Il Last Price è il valore a cui è stato venduto un token nell'ultima operazione di acquisto.
Ma se metto in vendita i miei BUDX token allo stesso prezzo riuscirò a venderli?
Diverse ore fa ho messo in vendita 1 milione di BUDX ma nessuno li ha acquistati!
Il valore Last Price può essere un buon indicatore per i token che hanno:
- una piccola distanza tra i valori Highest Bid e Lowest Ask
- un volume di scambio giornaliero mediamente grande
E' questo il caso del token DEC.
Il valore Last Price non è un buon indicatore per i token che hanno pochissime offerte di acquisto oppure nessuna offerta di acquisto.
Un token che non ha offerte di acquisto è semplicemente un token che nessuno vuole acquistare!
Un token che ha molte offerte di acquisto è semplicemente un token che molti vogliono acquistare anche se ad un valore inferiore alla migliore offerta di acquisto.
Se sei un nuovo utente di Hive e vuoi acquistare un Hive Engine token devi sempre prestare molta più attenzione e dare più importanza alle offerte di acquisto (Highest Bid) presenti.
Il grafico Depth ti mostra in modo visivo il registro degli ordini da cui puoi capire con un colpo d'occhio se un token è richiesto oppure no.
Il grafico Depth del token BUDX mostra chiaramente che tanti vogliono vendere i token BUDX e pochi vogliono acquistarlo ad un prezzo molto inferiore alle offerte di vendita.
Quindi se volessi monetizzare e vendere immediatamente i miei token BUDX potrei vendere:
- 479458.49999999 BUDX e ricevere 0.00958917 SWAP.HIVE
- 1434419.32513810 BUDX e ricevere 0.01434419 SWAP.HIVE
Mi rimarrebbero 465445475 BUDX che non posso vendere immediatamente perchè non ci sono offerte di acquisto.
Quindi i miei 467359352.07 BUDX non valgono 1337$ ma molto molto molto meno.
Un altro modo veloce per vedere quanti swap.hive puoi ricevere se vendi un certo quantitativo di Hive Engine tokens è utilizzare la funzionalità SWAP di Hive Keychain.
Se provo a fare lo SWAP di 467359352.07 BUDX in SWAP.HIVE ricevo un messaggio di errore perchè non c'è sufficiente volume per effettuare lo SWAP.
Se provo a fare lo SWAP dello stesso quantitativo di token 467359352.07 ma inserisco DEC invece di BUDSX Hive Keychain mi mostra che questa operazione è eseguibile.
Concludo questo post mostrando cosa succede al valore in dollari dei miei BUDSX indicato nel mio Hive Engine wallet se vendo 100 BUDX al valore della migliore offerta di acquisto presente sul mercato.

Ma il valore reale immediatamente monetizzabile è molto più basso!
Se sei un nuovo utente di Hive e se vuoi acquitare un Hive Engine token devi sempre prima considerare:
- i casi d'uso di quel token
- chi ha creato quel token
- documentarti sul progetto a cui il token è collegato
- non devi dare peso al valore Last Price ma devi dare peso alle offerte di acquisto presenti sul mercato
Il valore reale monetario immediatamente monetizzabile di un quantitativo di Hive Engine token è dato dalla somma delle offerte di acquisto che riescono a coprire il quantitativo di token che si vuole vendere.
