Hello Hive gamers! Last week, the Arcade Colony Stakehouse Den went live. Three games are now available to play: Roulette, Blackjack and Slots. Players can now earn COLONY tokens by betting Hotsauce on those games. To increase our COLONY earnings, we need to stake COLONY as well since it serves as a reward multiplier. The more COLONY staked, the higher the reward multiplier and the eventual rewards.
Hotsauce and COLONY
Hotsauce is the soulbound token in game that players earn by staking NFT cards in the game. This is used to bet on games so technically, players are not using real money and cannot lose real money when playing Stakehouse Den. This is a casino game where players can only win and lose nothing when they lose a bet.
COLONY is the governance token in the Arcade Colony eco system. This means that this token has utility in all the games in Arcade Colony including Moon Karts, Stakehouse Den, Hyperrail Blaster and future games that may come.
COLONY Tokens Bought and My DSWAP.TRADE Update
I used DSWAP.TRADE and tried its DCA Pools feature to buy COLONY tokens on staggered basis. In my opinion, the DCA Pools feature will be more cost effective in the long run if you're buying large amounts of tokens so I went and tested this one. At first I had problems when my trade got stuck and did not go through. I raised a ticket and now the orders are being executed every twelve hours.
In addition, I also bought COLONY from the market. The next step was to transfer the COLONY tokens from Hive-Engine into the Arcade Colony wallet.
After transferring, we will now stake the tokens. This brings my total staked to nineteen thousand tokens. My initial goal is to stake 100,000 tokens so I will be adding more by buying from the market and swapping other hive-engine tokens for COLONY.
Playing Stakehouse Den
Among the three games in Stakehouse Den, my favorite is Blackjack since this game is not based on pure luck. You have to calculate your odds of winning as well. Soon, when Poker goes live with multi player option then it will probably replace Blackjack as my favorite.
The Hotsauce generated by my staked cards were not enough to play a lot of games so I can only play three games.
In the first game, I won at once with a Black Jack with the house having nineteen! Just when I said Blackjack is not pure luck, the game seems to correct me.
In the second game, the house won with a Black Jack of its own. What is happening!?
In my third game, I had twenty so this is a win if the house don't have twenty one.
I won two games out of three. I need to increase my Hotsauce generation to be able to play more games in the future.
Potential of Arcade Colony Games
Currently, Arcade Colony has two games that are live: Moon Karts and Stakehouse Den with a third game, Hyperrail Blaster soon to be released. These games are also being developed for mobile on Android and IOS. The development team has the expertise to pull this off since they are affiliated with Splinterlands, Hive's most successful #play2earn game. The mobile port increases the probability of more players being onboarded not only in Arcade Colony but related games Splinterlands and the Hive blockchain as well. The possible success of Arcade Colony will have a domino effect on all things related to Hive since it will bring more users to the blockchain. Of course, this includes COLONY tokens and other hive-engine tokens as well.
