dopo qualche giorno di pausa, torno sull'argomento del momento, cioè STEEM e il discusso Hard Fork 23.
Dico argomento del momento, perchè la decisione di Steemit Inc, di Justin Sun e dei witnesses che hanno sostenuto l'HF23 (quasi tutti fantocci di proprietà dello stesso Sun) ha scatenato un coro di critiche da parte di vari esponenti della community ma non solo, visto che tanti esperti di criptovalute e blockchain si sono espressi sulla mossa azzardata compiuta da chi attualmente controlla la blockchain, ma soprattutto da parte degli stessi Exchange che non hanno supportato questo Hard Fork, portando alla paralisi dei depositi e prelievi del token.
La cosa più importante che questo Hard Fork ha messo in evidenza sono i limiti che attualmente il protocollo DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) dimostra e che necessita sicuramente di molti interventi per renderlo più efficace e sicuro.
Modifiche che Hive ha già attuato per il proprio modello di DPoS ma che forse non saranno sufficienti per renderla del tutto sicura da scalate ostili e manipolazioni.
Insomma, in questo periodo si sta scrivendo la storia delle blockchain DPoS e questo è il motivo del perchè c'è tanta attenzione concentrata intorno a Steem e Hive.
Steem di sicuro ha subito un duro colpo alla sua credibilità perchè tutte le misure attuate nell'ultimo periodo, che può essere circoscritto a quello successivo all'acquisizione di Steemit Inc da parte di Sun, puntano alla centralizzazione della blockchain e quindi in totale contrasto con il progetto iniziale che voleva esattamente il contrario.
Steemit Inc (quindi Justin Sun) controllano la blockchain e stanno cercando di eliminare ogni possibile voce contraria al loro operato in maniera dittatoriale, portando al silenzio le voci contrarie alla propria; tutto questo è fatto in maniera così evidente da non poter essere ignorata da chi attualmente è spettatore della situazione.
Contenuti oscurati quindi.. ma non solo.
Perchè i dissidenti (ovvero quelli che per loro lo sono) oltre ad essere ridotti al silenzio tramite la censura dei loro contenuti, stanno subendo anche il "furto" dei propri token che in alcuni casi non sono solo il frutto del proprio operato come blogger/vlogger ma anche il risultato della conversione della propria moneta fiat in steem; a tutti gli effetti degli investimenti in Steem!
Alla luce di questa osservazione si può comprendere come il termine furto sia assolutamente corretto ponendo l'accento su un altro aspetto abbastanza inquietante: i fondi dei detentori di steem/steem power ed SBD non sono al sicuro perchè un futuro Hard Fork potrebbe privarli della loro proprietà senza alcun preavviso e senza una giustificata motivazione.
Alla luce di quanto detto (e sono fatti, non mie interpretazioni) quale persona o investitore sano di mente potrebbe mai prendere in considerazione Steem per un futuro investimento ?
L'ovvia risposta è NESSUNO.
E infatti il numero dei powerdown sta aumentando in maniera considerevole e la riduzione del periodo da 13 settimane a 4 non farà che accelerare questo esodo di massa.
Esodo verso cosa?
L'alternativa più ovvia a Steem appare proprio Hive che sta cercando di recuperare lo spirito iniziale di Steem e correggerne le criticità.
La transizione sarà lunga e la strada non sarà certo lineare, ma sono fiducioso che se si cercherà di andare tutti nella stessa direzione, l'obiettivo possa essere raggiunto.
Bisognerà capitalizzare l'attenzione che attualmente si sta ricevendo per canalizzarla in futuri investimenti e una maggiore consapevolezza sugli sviluppi da compiere.
Punto molto su quest'ultimo aspetto perchè quello che emerge dalla condotta di Steemit Inc/Sun è una totale confusione su quali siano gli step da compiere e la linea da seguire.
Questa instabilità si riflette su tutti i settori della blockchain, dallo sviluppo alla community, che oggi appare quanto mai sfilacciata.
Risultato: quelle Dapps che inizialmente avevano deciso di rimanere sulla blockchain di Steem stanno "traslocando" in Hive.
L'ultimo eclatante abbandono riguarda Splinterlands che ha annunciato di spostarsi su Hive e il cui post nel quale annunciava tale decisione è stato oscurato/censurato in Steem, quasi a confermare quanto detto fino ad ora.
E' una decisione eclatante perchè Splinterlands rappresentava la Dapps di punta di Steem ma non solo... è in assoluto quella più utilizzata tra tutte le blockchain e secondo me perderla è un brutto colpo assestato a Steem sia in termini di utenti persi che di volumi che questa Dapps è capace di muovere.
Insomma, la situazione è abbastanza complicata per Steem e se pensiamo che fino a tre mesi fa si nutrivano molte speranze in questa blockchain e sul fatto che un'ipotetica bull run di Bitcoin in seguito all'Halving potesse riportare in alto le quotazioni e l'entusiasmo della community, sembra di essere passati dalle stelle alle stalle.
Justin Sun è riuscito a distruggere tutto spingendo sull'unica nota negativa di Steem e cioè l'enorme stake di Steemit Inc derivante dal ninja mining.
Infatti se Ned non aveva mai utilizzato questo stake per interferire con la blockchain grazie ad un accordo preciso con i witnesses, Sun ha dal primo giorno abusato di questo enorme potere interferendo in maniera diretta sull'andamento di Steem.
Attualmente la situazione di Steem vede un'enorme perdita di credibilità oltre alla percezione tangibile di una mancanza di sicurezza per i wallet che potrebbero essere congelati, o peggio azzerati, per un semplice capriccio di Sun.
Inoltre la confusione sul percorso intrapreso unito alla perdita di Dapps importanti come Splinterlands ha reso meno solida l'intera blockchain.
Senza considerare che su tutto grava la grossa incognita dei problemi legali che Steemit Inc, Justin Sun e i witnesses che hanno supportato l'HF23 potrebbero dover affrontare.
Infatti con il wallet di @community321 che è stato hackerato pochi minuti prima dell'HF23 e su cui sono stati trasferiti tutti i fondi sottratti a una nutrita lista di grossi stakeholders (molti dei quali incolpevoli rispetto alle accuse di Sun di minare la stabilità di Steem e fare propaganda contraria alla sua blockchain), fondi che poi l'hacker ha trasferito a Bittrex delegandogli la restituizione degli stessi agli account da cui erano stati rubati, si è creata una situazione davvero complicata e delicata dal punto di vista legale, che ha portato allo stallo della blockhain che dura da quasi una settimana.
Da una parte ci sono i detentori dei wallet che sono stati azzerati, dall'altra c'è bittrex messo in mezzo suo malgrado, poi c'è Sun che spinge per riottenere quei fondi e il ultimo ci sono gli exchange che non hanno supportato l'HF23.. almeno per il momento.
Quindi situazione davvero delicata, per certi versi compromessa visto che alcuni exchange, sebbene stiano per appoggiare l'HF23 per poter riaprire gli scambi per far uscire la blockchain dallo stallo attuale, stanno altresì valutando l'ipotesi di delistare Steem nel prossimo futuro (parliamo di mesi).
Binance ad esempio ha deciso di ridurre le coppie dedicate a Steem da tre a una sola e sono convinto che altri seguiranno l'esempio.
Se da una parte Hive viene listato in sempre più exchange, dall'altra Steem perde il supporto e rischia di entrare in una sequenza di situazioni molto pericolose per la sua sussistenza.
Detto questo, la mia personalissima opinione è che non riesco a capire la logica delle azioni di Sun, se c'è un progetto per Steem e se queste azioni fossero tutte parti di un piano più elaborato e che noi dall'esterno non riusciamo ancora a comprendere.
Perchè se così non fosse e alla luce dell'investimento che Sun ha fatto per acquisire Steemit Inc e il suo stake, sarebbe assurdo che si fosse mosso senza un business plan e un progetto ben definito, ma soprattutto senza una conoscenza approfondita di Steem.
A meno che non pensasse che la community di Steem (ora spostatasi su Hive) non fosse talmente compatta e consapevole da mettergli i bastoni tra le ruote sin dal primo momento.

Hello everybody,
after a few days off, I return to the topic of the moment, namely STEEM and the controversial Hard Fork 23.
I say topic of the moment, because the decision of Steemit Inc, Justin Sun and the witnesses who supported HF23 (almost all puppets owned by the same Sun) has sparked a chorus of criticism from various members of the community but not only, as many experts in cryptocurrency and blockchain have expressed their opinion on the bold move made by those who currently control the blockchain, but especially by the same Exchange that have not supported this Hard Fork, leading to the paralysis of deposits and withdrawals of the token.
The most important thing that this Hard Fork has highlighted are the limits that currently the DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) protocol shows and that surely needs many interventions to make it more effective and secure.
Changes that Hive has already implemented for its DPoS model but that maybe will not be enough to make it completely safe from hostile climbs and manipulations.
In short, in this period is writing the history of DPoS blockchain and this is the reason why there is so much attention focused around Steem and Hive.
Steem certainly suffered a blow to its credibility because all the measures implemented in the last period, which can be limited to the period after the acquisition of Steemit Inc by Sun, aim at the centralization of the blockchain and therefore in total contrast with the initial project that wanted exactly the opposite.
Steemit Inc (i.e. Justin Sun) control the blockchain and are trying to eliminate all possible voices against their actions in a dictatorial way, bringing to silence the voices against their own; all this is done so clearly that it can't be ignored by those who are currently spectators of the situation.
Overcast contents then... but not only.
Because the dissidents (i.e. those who for them are) besides being reduced to silence through the censorship of their contents, are also suffering the "theft" of their tokens which in some cases are not only the result of their work as bloggers/vloggers but also the result of the conversion of their fiat currency into steem; to all intents and purposes of investments in Steem!
In the light of this observation it is possible to understand how the term theft is absolutely correct by emphasizing another rather disturbing aspect: the funds of the owners of steem/steem power and SBD are not safe because a future Hard Fork could deprive them of their property without any notice and without a justified motivation.
In light of the above (and these are facts, not my interpretations) ***what sane person or investor could ever consider Steem for a future investment?
The obvious answer is NONE.
And in fact the number of powerdowns is increasing considerably and the reduction of the period from 13 weeks to 4 will only accelerate this mass exodus.
Exodus to what?
The most obvious alternative to Steem appears to be Hive who is trying to recover Steem's initial spirit and correct his criticalities.
The transition will be long and the road will certainly not be linear, but I am confident that if we all try to go in the same direction, the goal can be achieved.
We need to capitalize on the attention we are currently receiving to channel it into future investments and greater awareness of the developments to be made.
I'm betting a lot on the latter because * what emerges from the conduct of Steemit Inc/Sun is a total confusion about what steps to take and the line to follow.
This instability is reflected in all areas of the blockchain, from development to community, which today seems more frayed than ever.
As a result: those Dapps who initially decided to stay on Steem's blockchain are moving to Hive.
The last striking abandonment concerns Splinterlands which announced it was moving to Hive and whose post in which it announced this decision was obscured/censored in Steem, almost confirming what has been said so far.
It's a striking decision because Splinterlands represented the flagship Dapps of Steem but not only... it's absolutely the most used of all the blockchain and in my opinion losing it is a blow to Steem both in terms of lost users and volumes that this Dapps is able to move.
In short, the situation is quite complicated for Steem and if we think that until three months ago there was a lot of hope in this blockchain and the fact that a hypothetical Bitcoin bull run after the Halving could bring back the quotes and the enthusiasm of the community, it seems to have gone from the stars to the stables.
Justin Sun managed to destroy everything by pushing on Steem's only negative note and that is Steemit Inc's huge ninja mining stake.
In fact if Ned had never used this stake to interfere with the blockchain thanks to a precise agreement with the witnesses, Sun has abused this enormous power from day one by interfering directly with Steem's performance.
Currently Steem's situation sees a huge loss of credibility in addition to the tangible perception of a lack of security for the wallets that could be frozen, or worse, reset to zero, for a simple whim of Sun.
Moreover, the confusion on the path taken together with the loss of important Dapps like Splinterlands has made the whole blockchain less solid.
Not to mention the big unknown of the legal problems that Steemit Inc, Justin Sun and the witnesses who supported HF23 may face.
In fact with the @community321 wallet that was hacked a few minutes before HF23 and to which all the funds stolen from a large list of big stakeholders (many of them guilty of Sun's accusations of undermining Steem's stability and propaganda against his blockchain) have been transferred, funds that the hacker then transferred to Bittrex delegating the return of the same to the accounts from which they had been stolen, created a very complicated and delicate situation from the legal point of view, which led to the blockhain stalemate that lasted almost a week.
On one side there are the holders of the wallets that have been reset to zero, on the other side there's bittrex put in between, then there's Sun pushing to get those funds back and the last one there are the exchanges that didn't support HF23... at least for the moment.
So really delicate situation, in some ways compromised since some exchanges, although they are about to support HF23 to reopen the exchanges to get the blockchain out of the current stalemate, are also considering the possibility of delisting Steem in the near future (let's talk about months).
Binance for example has decided to reduce the pairs dedicated to Steem from three to one and I'm convinced that others will follow suit.
If on the one hand Hive is listed in more and more exchanges, on the other hand Steem loses the support and risks entering a sequence of situations very dangerous for his subsistence.
Having said that, my very personal opinion is that I can't understand the logic of Sun's actions, if there is a project for Steem and if these actions were all parts of a more elaborate plan that we from the outside are not yet able to understand.
Because if this is not the case and in light of the investment that Sun has made to acquire Steemit Inc and its stake, it would be absurd that he moved without a business plan and a well-defined project, but above all without a deep knowledge of Steem.
Unless he thought that Steem's community (now moved to Hive) was so compact and aware that it was getting in his way from the very beginning.
