Siete tra i pochi al mondo a non essere incappati in un meme di strani personaggi vestiti di rosso e con quadrati, triangoli, cerchi apposti sul viso?

O siete tra quelli che di quei meme, di quegli articoli, di quelle chiacchiere si sono rotti i famigerati cojones?

O magari siete tra quelli che non ne hanno mai abbastanza dei suddetti meme, articoli e chiacchiere?

Oppure (e lo spero) siete tra quelli (sempre troppo pochi) che non vedevano l'ora di leggere la mia opinione al riguardo?

Al riguardo di cosa?
Di Squid Game ovviamente, e di cosa sennò?
In realtà, e per dovere di cronaca, proprio perchè preso dall'ansia di restare indietro (visto che su questa strepitosa serie ero davvero arrivato assai in ritardo) vi avevo accennato la mia opinione rispetto al primo debordante episodio. Dove? Cliccate qui curiosoni.
Oggi, invece, a bocce ferme e mente più o meno rilassata, torno su tutta la prima stagione, conscio di essere forse il milionesimo signor nessuno a parlarne.
Il fenomeno Squid Game, come tutti i fenomeni di massa, ha finito per polarizzare oltremodo una discussione che, a mio avviso, sarebbe dovuta restare nell'ambito dello "Squid Game è una delle migliori serie degli ultimi anni, mettiamoci l'anima in pace, decidiamo solo se debba essere una top 3, una top 10 o una top 20". E invece, come spesso accade quando qualcosa di residuale diventa qualcosa di accecante, specie se ammantata da un alone di mistero e seducente stupore, subito parte la corsa al trovare il famoso capello nell'uovo e provare a rendere quella cosa un qualcosa di già visto, pericoloso, non esattamente perfetta e cosi via.
E' successo anche con la serie coreana di Netflix ed è successo soprattutto in seguito al clamoroso successo della serie in ogni parte del pianeta, compresa la nostra italietta.
Il rischio, che spero e credo di aver evitato, è quello di farsi travolgere dal contrattacco degli hater o dei finti intenditori e iniziare a percepire come sopravvalutata una serie che invece non lo è.
Il fenomeno Squid Game ha saputo intrigarci e svegliarci da un sonno poco vigile nel quale tutti noi, volenti o nolenti, siamo piombati da quando le campagne sono diventate città, le banconote sono diventate 01010101, i figli degli optional, gli amici un rischio, l'amore un lusso.
Il capitalismo finanziario e il consumismo selvaggio hanno tramutato tutti noi in dollari ambulanti. Non più esseri umani ma polli da spennare, gente da sfruttare, vite da succhiare, cavalli su cui puntare.
In questa gigantesca, e sicuramente goffa, metafora si insinua la serie coreana, che è finita per essere "la serie violenta sui giochi dei bambini" ma che in realtà è soprattutto una spietata e lucida denuncia su quello che la nostra società, seppure riflessa nella piovosa e lontana Korea, è diventata.

About Squid Game of course, and what else?
Actually, and for the record, just because I was anxious to stay behind (since I was really late on this amazing series) I had mentioned my opinion about the first episode. Click here, curious people.
Today, however, with steady bowls and mind more or less relaxed, I return to the entire first season, aware of being perhaps the millionth Mr. Nobody to talk about it.
The Squid Game phenomenon, like all mass phenomena, ended up polarizing a discussion that, in my opinion, should have remained in the realm of "Squid Game is one of the best series of recent years, let's just decide if it should be a top 3, a top 10 or a top 20". And instead, as often happens when something residual becomes something blinding, especially if cloaked in a halo of mystery and seductive wonder, immediately starts the race to find the famous hair in the egg and try to make that thing something already seen, dangerous, not exactly perfect and so on.
It also happened with the Korean series of Netflix and it happened especially after the resounding success of the series in every part of the planet, including our little Italy.
The risk, which I hope and believe I have avoided, is to be overwhelmed by the counterattack of hater or fake connoisseurs and begin to perceive as overrated a series that is not.
The Squid Game phenomenon has been able to intrigue us and wake us up from a half-awake sleep in which all of us, whether we like it or not, have fallen into since the countryside became cities, banknotes became 0101010101, children became optional, friends became a risk, love became a luxury.
Financial capitalism and unbridled consumerism have turned us all into walking dollars. No longer human beings but chickens to pluck, people to exploit, lives to suck, horses to bet on.
Into this gigantic, and certainly clumsy, metaphor creeps the Korean series, which ended up being "the violent series about children's games" but which in reality is above all a ruthless and lucid denunciation of what our society, albeit reflected in the rainy and distant Korea, has become.
