Il primo episodio della seconda stagione di The Morning Show, di cui vi avevo già parlato in questa recensione, aveva denotato un certo rilassamento rispetto alla prima conturbante stagione. Le première, specie quelle che seguono una stagione cosi osannata ed un finale cosi cataclismatico come quello che aveva chiuso la prima annata, spesso risultano abbastanza deludenti proprio perchè nascono da un'attesa enorme e hanno dietro di esse un lascito rilevantissimo.
Sebbene avessi bene a mente che non si giudica un libro dalla copertina ne una seconda stagione di una serie dalla sua première, essa mi aveva lasciato quella sensazione di "quest'anno mi sa che non sarà come il precedente" che, purtroppo, l'intero secondo ciclo di episodi, conclusosi il 18 Novembre scorso con l'episodio "Fever", non ha saputo sopprimere.
La seconda stagione di The Morning Show, ve lo dico subito, ha vissuto di momenti, grandi sussulti, colpi di scena, 2 grandi temi e dei suoi personaggi ma non ha saputo incidere come all'esordio, risultando schizofrenico, totalmente schizofrenico (che poi ora che ci penso magari era anche voluto...magari gli autori volevano farci percepire quello spaesamento che un po tutti abbiamo subito con l'avvento del coronavirus).
Detta in soldoni, ho apprezzato l'incrocio fra realta è finzione, fra diegetica ed extradiegetica, fra il dramma dei personaggi della serie e quello globale che dal dicembre 2019 ci accompagna velenosamente. Quello che non ho apprezzato, e forse neppure capito, è il modo in cui queste strade si siano incrociate e il modo in cui certi personaggi e certe storyline si siano incontrate.
Ah, dimenticavo. La seconda stagione mi è piaciuta, mi è piaciuta comunque, anche se meno della prima e anche se priva di quella straordinaria coerenza e di quella granitica solidità che aveva contraddistinto la prima.

The first episode of the second season of The Morning Show, which I had already told you about in this review, had denoted a certain relaxation compared to the first contentious season. The premieres, especially those that follow a season so acclaimed and a final so cataclysmic as the one that closed the first season, are often quite disappointing because they are born from a huge expectation and have behind them a very important legacy.
Although I was well aware that you can't judge a book by its cover nor a second season of a series by its premiere, it left me with the feeling of "this year I guess it won't be like the previous one" that, unfortunately, the entire second cycle of episodes, which ended on November 18 with the episode "Fever", could not suppress.
The second season of The Morning Show, I tell you now, has lived moments, great jolts, twists, 2 major themes and its characters but has not been able to affect as the debut, resulting schizophrenic, totally schizophrenic (which then now that I think about it maybe it was also wanted ... maybe the authors wanted us to feel that disorientation that a little bit we all suffered with the advent of coronavirus).
In a nutshell, I appreciated the crossover between reality and fiction, between diegetic and extradiegetic, between the drama of the characters of the series and the global one that from December 2019 accompanies us poisonously. What I didn't appreciate, and perhaps didn't even understand, was how these paths crossed and how certain characters and storylines came together.
Ah, I forgot. I liked the second season, I liked it anyway, even if less than the first one and even if it lacked that extraordinary coherence and that granitic solidity that had distinguished the first one.
