Talking of folking it up yesterday, here's a look back to something more jazzy that took place on the end of May bank holiday of this year…
My home town of Sidmouth started a jazz festival at this time last year, so this was the second installment. 2022 was a small and basic affair, just testing the waters as it were, and it's clear the event has already gone from strength to strength in just its second year.
A slight change of venue, taking advantage of a park in the centre of town which is ideal and underutilised for this kind of thing… but being used far more these days which is great to see. There were other happenings dotted around town but this was the focal point and made a cohesive and appropriately sized festival.
The whole shebang was very well organised, fun, interesting and enjoyed by all. The weather helped as that was perfect so it all went with a swing. Just a few photos of some of the vibe but I may well do a full post at some point.
Hopefully next year it will continue to grow and become another epic event in the calendar around these parts!
