There is a saying that life is an uphill climb, but the view is beautiful.
And El Copey hill is proof of that saying. It is a 4-kilometer climb that we set out to walk as a family. During and after the journey, you feel the exhaustion and pain of the effort, but the view was worth it all. From the top, you can see almost the entire island of Margarita.
It is a natural space that is open to the public. There is no entrance fee, but they do accept monetary contributions to help maintain the space and those who care for it.
It is one of my favorite places on the island because it feels like another world in there, with butterflies fluttering, birds singing, and the occasional natural water source. It's like an enchanted forest.
I love how it's a cool area for a tropical island, which makes it pleasant to walk around, and if you're lucky, a cloud will come and invade your personal space and block your view, like fog.
That day we enjoyed the view, had a picnic at the top, and went back down because it's a 2-hour climb up and a little over an hour down.
The climb leaves me exhausted, with shaky legs and sore muscles the next day, but I gladly take every opportunity to go because the journey is worth it and the view from the top is beautiful.

Hay un dicho que dice que la vida es cuesta arriba, pero la vista es hermosa.
Y el cerro el Copey es la prueba fehaciente de ese dicho, son 4 kilómetros de subida que nos lanzamos a caminar en familia, durante y después del trayecto sientes el agotamiento y dolor del esfuerzo, pero la vista lo valió todo, desde arriba se puede ver casi toda la isla de margarita.
Es un espacio natural que está abierto al público, no te cobran por ingresar, pero si aceptan colaboraciones monetarias para ayudar a mantener el espacio y a quienes cuidan de él.
Es de mis espacios favoritos en la isla, porque parece otro mundo allí dentro, mariposas revoloteando, pájaros cantando y una que otra fuente de agua natural, es como un bosque encantado.
Me encanta como es una zona fría como para quedar en una isla tropical, lo que la hace agradable para caminar, e incluso si tienes suerte llega una nube a invadir tu espacio personal y taparte la vista, es como neblina.
Ese día disfrutamos de la vista, hicimos un picnic en la cima y bajamos nuevamente porque son 2 horas de subida y 1 hora y tanto de bajada.
Subir me deja agotada, con las piernas temblando y dolor muscular al día siguiente, pero cada oportunidad de ir la tomo encantada, porque el trayecto vale la pena y la vista desde la cima es hermosa.
