Good day, I guess your day is going well. So stumbled on a post made by @khaleesii about this contest and I decided to jump in after going through the main post about the contest made by @derangedvisions. The contest is a way of promoting@liketu and I must say it's a good strategy for them because someone like me got to know about @liketu through this contest and I'm making my first post on @liketu frontend now.
So the theme of this week's contest is Monochrome as I learnt that the contest is organized every week. In case you are thinking what Monochrome is all about, it's simply a picture of white and black or pictures with shades of a singular colour. Just like the name says Mono which means one.
Like @Derangedvisions said, Monochrome allows you to focus on the subject and emotion behind the picture without distraction from different colors. I concur to this statement.
Before I used to think Monochrome is all about black and white pictures but now I know it must not be white and black.
The 3 pictures was taken in Enugu, Eastern Nigeria on Monday is a lockdown day in the Eastern Nigeria. Every Monday is called sit at home in the East organized and enforcedby set of IPOB member in protest of illegal detection of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a secessionist leader rather called freedom leader..
The last two pictures shows an ever busy road looking deserted. The first picture is a building housing people shop being closed as owners didn't want to disobey IPOB directive. One of the consequences of disobedience to the directive is loss of properties, severe beating among others. The insecurity in the region is growing worse and people are afraid to disobey the directive.
From the pictures you can see emptiness, desertion and loneliness. I took the picture walking on the road side last year. This sit at home will be a topic for another day.
