I have started the journey of bakery in May of 2020. The initial momentum was Mothers’ Day, I wish to do something special for my mum in the middle of panic pandemic covid 19. That year I think all the people in the world were forced to quarantine themselves in the current living city. My parents stuck in the house, could proceed with their business, me too, having classes online everyday.
So my first made was a non baked mango mousse cake for m mum. It didn’t to be very successful, because I didn’t put gelatin, the cake looked not so firm, was going melt in very soon hahah.
For mousse cake, I had tried for two flavours. Another one will be a gradient matcha mousse cake. Hehe well, I only give it 7/10, because the gradient wasn’t perfect! The taste was ok.
Then, I tried to do mille crepe cake! This troublesome me for a long time hahah. My first and second made were successful, don’t know what happened to the trial after that, all failed lol! Successful made was mango mille crepe cake and matcha blanket cake. Although I tried to do chocolate mille crepe it failed so I make it into the blanket cake.
Another try was on sponge cake/birthday cake, my first made was also a cake I wish to give it to my mum. I tried several times but it failed, probably due to the mould I used! I was using a mousse mould instead of a normal cake mould. So I made one black sesame cake with strawberry toppings.
On my own birthday, I made one moist chocolate banana cake for myself, I was craving it! It tastes good, not too sweet as compared to Secret Recipe’s one. I was satisfied with it!
Also type of cake that make me confusing was swiss roll cake! I made several successful cake but it started to fail every time I made! Lol, ridiculous! For the successful one will be matcha swiss roll with matcha blancmange, raspberry swiss roll and chicken floss swiss roll.
My latest successful and satisfied try was the cake box, it was quite popular these two years. It was super easy to do, and convenient to give as a gift. I used to make many boxes and give it to my friends and family.
Hoping to try more cakes recipes in future, I want to make all the good food by myself, it’s tiring yet satisfying! Baking made me love the life I have.
