Well, the first of the two purple lemonades was dry enough to begin trimming, so I spent the majority of the day trimming some buds and man does this strain smell amazing. It smells a lot like the red poison strain, but a lot sweeter. It will be cool to see how different the two strains are in terms of effects. The red poison gives you a small energy boost and then gets straight into relax mode. I am hoping that the purple lemonade has more of a body effect to help with pain.
I used to be a fan of wet trimming and would cut the branches right off the plant and then shape the buds before I hung them to dry, but dry trimming is so much easier and faster. Plus a lot less sticky. Or I am just getting more efficient at trimming. It will be a few more days until the second purple lemonade is ready for trimming though, so that will be nice because trimming can get a bit tedious, so I am glad that my plants didn't all get ready for harvest at once.
This first plant was the smallest out of all the plants, and what I trimmed today weighed 59 grams. It will be cool to see how much the others get if I got this much off the small plant. I really think that the purple punch is going to have close to 100 grams or more. It is hard to guess right now since it still has a while left to fatten up. The buds on this first plant were a bit smaller and airy, and I am beginning to wonder if it is because of the purple coloring since the buds on the red poison were kind of airy as well.
The next time I have a colorful strain like this, I am going to have to keep some good notes on its grow time because I think I may be harvesting them a bit early because the darker color makes the trichomes seem ready when they could actually have a little more time to go before being at their peak. Oh well, I am happy with this harvest and I am excited to try this strain out.
