A beautiful hike to Pico de la Nieve & sunset at Roque de los Muchachos in the beautiful island of La Palma, Canary Islands.
I continue the picture series from my 6 + 1 (un)missable places in La Palma.
This time, I'd like to share the pictures from the top of Caldera de Taburiente - an amazing, huge & deep crater formed by volcanic eruptions a very long time ago.
The first place I visited was mountaintop called Pico de la Nieve. Climbed it with a group of friends and it was a nice afternoon hike (around 3 kilometers one way). We had a picnic on the top with the beautiful views into the caldera, the mountain rage Cumbre Vieja and even the neigbouring islands - especially Tenerife with its Pico del Teide.
Then, when we got back to our cars, we continued to Roque de los Muchachos - the highest point of the island. Just in time for sunset!
