Flashback Tuesday as I bring you all to the very first time I visited Microscoffee way back 2019.
As you may notice, there are lots of photos in this post. That is because I was lowkey amazed by this café - the interior and the decors are very true to its name. I loved the vibe, even though I'm not really a Science "person" lol. I enjoyed going around the place and taking quite a few pictures (yep, I loved doing this even way before I started blogging here in Hive. I don't really upload the pictures on my socials. I keep it for "memories", something to remember a moment by, you know.)
What made me visit here? It was time to make grades and my co-teacher/ good friend Cha @charisse.craves and I wanted to go outside the Faculty Room so we can focus on checking projects and computing grades. The nearest sensible coffee place was this, and so I suggested that we go. And boy was I glad I did so!
The interior design was what caught our eyes the time we entered the café. Who wouldn't, right? Look around. It was like we were entering a science lab and we're about to do our experiments. As we were seated, the kind-looking barista approached us and gave us a menu. They had hot, iced and frappe coffees, a variety of milk teas, brunch meals and snack foods - they got plenty.
Then I realized that yeah, they're a coffee shop and kind of a semi-restaurant, too. After all, people who line up the doctor's office tend to wait here and dine their way through the waiting, I observe. This reminds me to tell you, dear reader, that the owner of Microscoffee is a doctor who owns the clinic just beside the coffeehouse. I know! It's a brilliant idea to have a coffee shop near a doctor's office. It's awesome, if you ask me. A place for #coffee lovers to chill in while waiting to be called for their doctor's appointment.
Cha and I ordered breakfast silog meals and bubble teas for the drinks (in our defense, we did not order coffees because we already drank coffee before going to the cafe). We both came to a conclusion that their milk teas are not that good as compared to establishments that sell only milk teas, if you get what we mean. Their food is not that bad though. We're glad to have the place to ourselves, as it was a weekday and there were only a few people inside. We got to focus on our work and we were quite productive. #workmode
A few hours passed and we then decided to take photos of us in the coffee shop. We took turns in taking pictures, like Gen Zers on a tour lol. The kind barista noticed us and offered to take a photo of us together, which we were really grateful about, which explains our group photos together here.
If you are keen to visit, this place is located in 435 J. Alcantara Street, Cebu City. I guess it'd help visualize if I tell you that this place is in between University of Cebu SHS - Private Campus and University of San Carlos South Campus, as these schools are pretty popular so now you may have an idea of where to go, as it gets tricky in locating this place (you're welcome, ^wink).
Overall, I was satisfied with my café experience here. I had more work done, thanks to the non-distracting environment. There were no "noisy people" around (unlike in some coffee places). The meal we had was decent and very affordable. The air conditioning situation is good, too - not too cold, yay! The baristas were friendly and had good initiative (it was late when we decided we wanted to order bubble teas and we both hesitated lol - the barista approached our table and asked us if there's something we had in mind, so that's when we ordered).
It's a coffeehouse worth visiting. If you are ever in Colon or near the abovementioned schools, you better check this Science-geeky café out!
