This popular quote by John Steinbeck in his book titled The Pearl first published in 1945 is spot on for our present predicament in this part of my country. He said,
For it is said that humans are never satisfied, that you give them one thing and they want something more….
It's been a relaxing Sunday and I've been indoors for the better part of the day, thanks to the rain! The months of March to May were kind of our summer and it was extremely hot! Like scorching hot. The sun was merciless and prompt in its daily duty. The heat was unbearable and people complained. We knew the weather was out of whack because it should not be that hot. We prayed for rain!
When the rains came towards the end of May and became steady in June, we were relieved. Albeit for a little while. Now, the rain has been consistent and it won't stop! LOL.
Roads and streets are flooded. People are back to complaining again because the rain makes it impossible to do certain things or go places. Businesses become slow and the bad roads make it worse.
After two days and nights of heavy rainfall, I decided to go for a stroll right after it stopped. Yes, even the rain takes breaks! I needed to get some provisions at a mini-mart close to my residence or else I'll go to bed on an empty stomach. I had to seize the opportunity.
These are pictures I took on my stroll. I remember it's been a while since I posted some images on Liketu. The rain drizzled on and off during my stroll but the wind was cool and refreshing. Thankfully, I had my umbrella with me just in case. I walked on the pavement because the dirt road was muddy and it seemed a perfect time to take some pictures!
I bought some stuff at the mini-mart, spent about an hour outside and immediately after I got back home, there was a heavy downpour. Thank heavens I was home already. Hehe.
How's your Sunday going, folks? Thanks to @coff33a for hosting #sublimesunday and @ace108 for initiating #beautifulsunday!
