Hi Liketu
I wanted to share with you my new and very misunderstood hobby.
When you first hear pole dancing most would think of strip clubs or perhaps being dodgy... to be honest I had thought the same.
I started this year like most thinking 'new year, new me' what exercise class can I start and enjoy... my first thoughts were to yoga, I have done this before and am quite good. Although I enjoy yoga I find it very difficult to focus for 1h 30mins. My next thoughts were to reformer pilates, this meant to be great for the body. I started researching and found pole exercise classes...
Advertised as, "combining dance and acrobatic centered on a pole. Great way to sculpt your body especially your core and have fun doing it"
I couldn't agree more, imagine the core strength you need to hold your body horizontally and vertically off a pole. How strong your arms and shoulders have to be to lift your body weight, how strong your abs must be to lift your legs up, and how flexible you must be to perform certain poses.
Not only is this beneficial physically, but it is great for your self-confidence. You take control of your body, it is empowering and you feel a level of satisfaction.
You see people effortlessly acrobat around the pole... of course, many see this and their first thoughts may be negative - but to perform pole, you need skill and poise...
I leave you with this.
