Time flies. Just when I settled in the place and started to enjoy the environment and hospitality of the people, I had to leave. I will be missing lombok and the hospitality of its people. I finally understood that they just have a different way of getting to know each other. They are not indifferent but overly friendly which is something I was not used to. During the trip, Ray and I were also trying to be friendly. We ended up talking to different people about many things, our experiences and our overall impression about the trip. Some small tips when visiting lombok that no travel blogger has told you about maybe these :
- Book hotels/homestays in advance, and even confirm it.
- Always have a backup plan
- Book transportation early as well, otherwise you will have no means of transportation. Especially during international events like MotoGP
The sun in lombok feels way different than in any other island. That is the only thing that kept us from moving around and exploring places. The heat wasn’t too friendly at all. Even during the motogp session, it was so crazy hot that even Ray had to go to the information center just to take a rest. During that moment, we talked to some of the staff and the medic staff too. Overall, our lombok experience wasn’t that bad.
I landed in Bali at around 11 and went straight to the hotel. Ray went back to Surabaya with me, going to move around Bali and exploring the island a little bit before moving back.
