While lack of women in leadership positions was more common in the past due to belief systems dominant at the time, these days it's due more to numbers and to inertia needed to overcome that status.
Although fields such as nursing and education have shifted from male to female dominance, many other fields remain dominated by men. That's one reason women challenge the status quo.

Cindy Gallop is an English advertising consultant. She is former chair of the US-based branch of the advertising firm Bartle Bogle hegarty. She is also founder of two movie companies, IfWeRanTheWorld and MakeLoveNotPorn (or MakeLoveNotAdultMovies), the second of which was one of the most talked about presentations at the 2009 TED Conference.
In 2006 she founded her own consultant agency, Cindy Gallop LLC. Her culsultancy's tag line, which appears across social media platforms, is "I like to blow shit up I am the Michael Bay of business."
