About the Quote
In team endeavors, a team of one is short-handed against a team with its full complement of players in play at any time. Although the short-handed team can score against a team at full-strength, rarely if ever does the short-handed team win the game. This can be seen in sports such as hockey (all versions) and futbol.
The team at full strength has the advantage of players who can take advantage of the division of labor (offense, defense, specialty units) while the short-handed team-- in this case, the team of one-- has to do everything.
