It was just a random dinner out with friends on a busy day. I was already in the office before 7:30am since I had out-of-base field work for the day. We left the office at almost 8am and arrived in Carcar past 9am. My team and I are working on a company project in Carcar, and we were supposed to leave Carcar by 12 noon to catch up for my meeting with one of my good friends at 3 pm, who has some product proposals for us. This good friend of mine used to work with me at the same company that I'm connected to (she's one of those in the photo). We had to push back a little from the initial agreed time since my team and I were not able to leave on time due to some constraints, so I had given a heads-up to my friend that my estimated arrival in the office would be around 3:30pm. It was a good thing that she also had some schedule to catch-up on, so it was for our convenience to adjust the time. Then my team and I officially left Carcar at around 2 pm and arrived at the office before 3:30 pm.
After the meeting with my friend, which lasted well past 5 p.m., she unexpectedly invited me to dinner. Then it also popped into our heads to invite our other work-batchmates who are currently available as well.
And voilà....
All of us were unexpectedly available and ready to go out for dinner. Though it was totally not on my schedule, but probably due to the things I accomplished for the day, my mind and my belly are both shouting for some self-reward...
So for this dinner out, we opted to go to Sachi for some Japanese food. The 3 of us had California Noukou Kotteri Ramen while the other 2 chose to go for a rice topping with miso soup. Then we also ordered 2 sets of California Maki good for sharing among the 5 of us. Then we really had a good time catching up until the closing time of the store.
I am just sharing this with you because you are probably also like me, who considers treating yourself to good food and a good group of friends a coping mechanism for a very hectic day. Another thing for me is that it's also another way of thanking myself for surviving the day.
