We were up early for an hour and a half drive to a new parkrun location. It was the Old Esk Railway stations fifth event so it's still very new and there were a lot of other tourist, like us. The event team were well organised and many of the local were happy for a chat and to tell us about their small country town. The parkrun course was a double out and back with laps around the show grounds. It is held on the old Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, this trail brings a lot of people through town hiking, running and cycling. The trail is the longest rail trail in Australia, the 161 km following the disused and removed rail line, luckily for us parkrun is only 5. I was running a little better this week but still walked a bit to get a few photos and hopefully not over do it on my dodgy ankle. I ended up 2nd in my age group in a time of 32:17 25th overall out of 125 runners and walkers. We enjoyed a nice breakfast and coffee afterward at the Brisbane Valley Roaster Cafe.
