First time tasting New York Rolls📍ZGZ | [Eng][Spa]

I have been really encouraged by the initiative introduced in the #HiveFood community to promote #LiketuMoments , well in this instance as #FoodieMoments so I couldn't miss out on this opportunity, clearly.

So as I saw that the concept was of a rather brief nature, I decided to expand a bit on the information I shared in my >> first post for Moments << and show you a bit more of this eye-catching dessert that is on everyone's lips.

Mis primeros New York Rolls

Me ha motivado mucho la iniciativa presentada en la comunidad de #HiveFood para promover los #LiketuMoments , bueno en este caso como #FoodieMoments por lo que no se me podía escarpar esta oportunidad, claramente.

Así que al ver que el concepto era de una naturaleza bastante breve, decidí ampliar un poco la información que compartí en mi >> primer post para Moments << y mostrarles un poco más de este llamativo postre que está en boca de todos.

As this initiative took me a bit by surprise and I had not anticipated venturing into the creation of this type of content, I decided to take a quick look at one of the bakeries that has become one of my favorites in the city of Zaragoza, OHLALA.

It is a French Boulangerie style place that does not stop exploring new gastronomic options, so the popular New York Rolls that everyone is talking about, are no exception.

It had already took me a long time to decide to try it, so when I arrived at the place and saw the sign indicating that there were 4 different flavors, I had to control myself so as not to order them all at once.

It is important to say that the girls who attend this place are very kind, this time as I could not make up my mind and I asked her if I could take a picture of all the variety they had, she kindly took them out of the display case to make the picture prettier, a wonderful girl!

She also told me that they make a savory version of Roquefort Cheese, but that this is only available on Saturdays for now, I found it a very tempting option.

Como esta iniciativa me tomó un poco por sorpresa y no había anticipado incursionar en la creación de este tipo de contenido, decidí ir a echar un vistazo rápido en una de las panaderías que se ha vuelto de mis favoritas en la ciudad de Zaragoza, OHLALA.

Se trata de un local estilo Boulangerie francés que no para de incursionar en nuevas propuestas gastronómicas, por lo que los populares New York Rolls de los que todo el mundo está hablando, no son la excepción.

Ya había tardado mucho en decidirme a probarlo así que cuando llegué al lugar y vi el cartel en que indicaba que había 4 sabores distintos, tuve que controlarme bastante para no pedirlos todos de una vez.
Es importante decir que las chicas que atienden en este local son muy amables, esta vez como no terminaba de decidirme y le pregunté si podía hacerles una foto a toda la variedad que tenía, se dispuso amablemente a sacarlos de la vitrina para que la imagen me quedara más bonita, ¡una chica maravillosa!.

Me dijo también que hacen una versión salada de Queso Roquefort, pero que esta está disponible solo los sábados por ahora, me pareció una opción muy tentadora.

Finally I decided on two options that would result in a balanced sum for my first contact with these little calorie bombs: the Nutella and the Cream Cheese with Red Fruits.

In case anyone hadn't heard of them before, the New York Rolls are a dessert that despite having originated in the United States, was created in a French pastry shop, hence a somewhat exaggerated version of the typical French croissant.

The funny thing is that they use puff pastry dough and create this kind of round bread that is filled with very tempting flavors that also happens to be very crunchy on the outside.

Al final me decidí por dos opciones que resultarían en una suma equilibrada para mi primer contacto con estas pequeñas bombas de calorías: el de Nutella y el de Crema de queso con frutos rojos.

Por si alguien no había oido hablar de ellos antes, los New York Rolls son un postre que a pesar de haberse originado en estados unidos, fue creado en una pastelería francesa, de ahí que sea una versión un tanto exagerada del típico croissant francés.

Lo divertido es que utilizan la masa de hojaldre y crean este esta especie de pan redondo que está relleno de sabores muy tentadores que, además, resulta ser muy crujiente por fuera.

Nutella

Regardless of the filling, each unit is priced at 4.50 €, which makes it a more expensive dessert than the average, actually the size and the amount of filling are in line with the price, in my opinion it is in line, but not enough to buy all 4 on the same day and spend 18.00 € on desserts, no way.

The first one I tried was the Nutella one, because chocolate is essential. I think it is impossible that this could be wrong, the only thing that can happen is that it turns out to be too sweet at the end, because it has a lot of filling. I think it is better to split it, although I love chocolate, this one in particular is quite heavy. But it is very good.

Independientemente del sabor, cada unidad tiene un precio de 4,50 € por lo que lo hace un postre más caro que la media, realmente el tamaño y la cantidad de relleno son acordes al precio, en mi opinión es acorde, pero no como para comprar los 4 el mismo día y gastarse 18,00 € en dulces, eso no.

El primero que probé fue el de Nutella, porque el chocolate prima en importancia. Creo que es imposible que esto pueda estar malo, lo único que puede suceder es que resulte ser empalagoso al final, pues tiene muchísimo relleno. Yo creo que es mejor compartirlo, aunque a mi me encante el chocolate este en particular resulta bastante pesado. Pero está muy bueno.

Cream Cheese with Red Fruits

I was very pleasantly surprised by this particular roll, I already thought it was an interesting combination of flavors that made me think of a cheesecake with some jam on top, but I thought the flavors would be a little more standard.

I couldn't have been more wrong, this filling is spectacular, they taste very fresh and natural, the marmalade is potent more towards the sour side than the sweet, which makes it combine very well with the cream cheese. I loved it because it was more of a breakfast version with sweet touches than just dessert.

Definitely the one that I would repeat at any time and that I would recommend with my eyes closed, I couldn't help but finish it as soon as I tasted it, believe me I had a hard time waiting to take the pictures you see here, it was very, very good!

Este roll en particular me sorprendió muy gratamente, ya me parecía interesante esa combinación de sabores que me hacían pensar en una torta de queso con alguna mermelada de acompañamiento, pero pensaba que los sabores serían un poco más estándar.

No podía estar más equivocada, este relleno es espectacular, se sienten muy frescos y naturales, la mermelada es potente más hacia el lado acido que hacia el dulce, lo que hace que combine muy bien con la crema de queso. Me encantó porque era una versión más de un desayuno con toques dulces que de un postre simplemente.

Definitivamente el que iría a repetir en cualquier momento y que recomendaría con los ojos cerrados, no pude evitar terminarlo a penas lo probé, creanme que me costó mucho esperar para sacar las fotos que ven aquí. ¡Muy, pero muy bueno!.

Overall it has been a super successful first approach, it is a dessert to surprise anyone and not only is it one of those that look impressive in the photos, it also tastes great, or at least the ones from OHLALA Bakery are.

I've left half of the nutella one for later and it definitely loses some of the crunchiness as the hours go by, it's normal between the humidity of the filling and the passing of time, it's still good but better if you get them fresh.

If anyone has had the opportunity to try them, I hope you tell me your impressions, here in my city there are many places that are offering them and I'm just starting to have an idea to dare to compare it.

En general ha sido un primer acercamiento super acertado, es un postre para sorprender a cualquiera y no solo es de esos que lucen impresionantes en las fotos, también saben espectacular, o al menos los e la Panadería OHLALA lo son.

He dejado la mitad del de nutella para más tarde y definitivamente se pierde algo del crujiente cuando pasan las horas, es normal entre la humedad del relleno y el paso del tiempo, sigue estando bueno pero mejor si se consiguen frescos.

Si alguien ha tenido la oportunidad de probarlos, espero que me cuenten sus impresiones, aquí en mi ciudad hay muchos locales que los están ofreciendo y yo a penas comienzo a tener una idea para atreverme a ir comparando.
