Now here goes the continuation and sadly, the last part of my Sumilon Island Travel Series. In my last post, I left you hanging. Sorry for that, some things are better off that way. 😅
We'll cut to the chase now; we were on time for the boat ride. What happened was that the front desk told us there was only one last boat trip back to the mainland but the one coordinating on the ground told us there was one more ride. When he said "Sa sunod na lang mo sakay, Ma'am." (You can take the next trip), a wave of relief came gushing into my body! @thegoodbi and @lakwatserangthik already rode their 3 PM boat trip. We were supposed to leave the island about the same time they did but guess what? We're extending our day tour! What a good news to hear after being lost in the island, right?
Because it'd take the boat around 30 minutes before it'd be back, we had extra time to continue swimming in Sumilon's infinity pool. We already explored the place right after lunch but in the afternoon, there's no one else in the swimming pool making it more attractive and refreshing! From the infinity pool, we can see if the boat's nearby and that's our signal to take a quick shower and change into our dry clothes. But while waiting, we wasted no time and enjoyed the spectacular view and the warm water in the pool. At that point, I'm just thankful we made it and there's still a boat that will take us across Oslob proper. I couldn't imagine spending the night on the island without a reserved room.
Because it was already late in the afternoon, it took longer for the boat to travel back to the island. We waited another 30 minutes or so for the boat to show up. Dark clouds kept gathering above us and the wind felt colder and colder; the waves were bigger than the morning we arrived. There's nothing left to do but wait. And that's it! Thankfully, the boat arrived, and we carefully rode the boat together with the staff of the resort. The last boat ride was supposed to be for staff only. Glad the coordinator allowed us!
And that's it! We're done revisiting my Sumilon Island trip! Where to next? Find out soon!
