Happy day people! Today I write once again from Rattan Hyper Market, venue of the first tournament of the year of the Chess Association of Nueva Esparta state and in this its second and fortunately last day of the event I must conclude that I am not made for these long days!
As I told you yesterday, the activity was scheduled for 9:00 am, so at that time we were at the place, which by that time was full of kids who responded to the call to participate in the first tournament of the year for children's categories, so the noise was huge ... until the games started!
Feliz día gente!! Hoy les escribo una vez más desde Rattan Hyper Market, sede del primer torneo del año de la Asociación de Ajedrez del estado Nueva Esparta y en éste su segundo y por suerte último día del evento debo concluir que no estoy hecha para éstas jornadas tan extensas!!!
Como les comenté el día de ayer, la actividad estaba pautada para las 9:00 am, por lo que a esa hora estábamos en el lugar, que para ése momento estaba repleto de chicos que respondieron al llamado a participar en el primer torneo del año para las categorías infantiles, así el bullicio era enorme... hasta que iniciaron las partidas!
A total of 5 rounds were played, leaving 4 more pending for today... Yes, four more that I hope to survive, because yesterday we arrived home after 5pm and the tiredness was really huge!!! Besides the mood was not the best, because of the 5 points of the day Matias got only one, hoping that today I managed to add as many more.
Luckily for me, yesterday around noon, my friend Claudimar joined me and at least I had company to talk, since yesterday neither my husband nor my daughter Miranda was there, so I was very grateful for her company until the end of the event, and her son César was also participating, so we chatted while the kids were playing.
We had lunch with the kids at the local cafe to recharge their batteries, because although it is not a physical sport the mental exhaustion is quite strong, so the two players and Arturo, Cesar's older brother and best friend of Matias enjoyed some delicious hamburgers, to resume the activity at 1pm.
Se jugaron 5 rondas en total, quedando pendientes 4 más para el día de hoy... Sí, cuatro más a las que espero sobrevivir, porque ayer llegamos a casa pasadas las 5pm y el cansancio en realidad era enorme!! Aparte los ánimos no eran los mejores, pues de los 5 puntos del día Matías obtuvo sólo uno, esperando que hoy logré sumar otros tantos.
Por suerte para mí, el día de ayer cerca del medio día, se incorporó mi amiga Claudimar y por lo menos tuve compañía para conversar, ya que ayer no fué mi esposo ni mi hija Miranda, por lo que agradecí muchísimo su compañía hasta el final del evento, y es que su hijo César, estaba participando también, así que nos dedicamos a conversar mientras los chicos jugaban.
Almorzamos con los niños en el cafetin del lugar para que recargaran energías, porque aunque no es un deporte físico el agotamiento mental es bastante fuerte, así que los dos jugadores y Arturo, hermano mayor de César y mejor amigo de Matías disfrutaron de unas ricas hamburguesas, para retomar la actividad a la 1pm.

A little later or maybe tomorrow I will be telling you how our Mati ended up doing in his participation today, praying that he manages to add other points because that helps him in what is his confidence in terms of the sport he decided to practice. Although both he and we are aware that he is very new compared to other boys who have been playing for years, but practice makes perfect, hence the importance of participating in tournaments, even if it doesn't go as well as he wishes.
El día de hoy aunque todos teníamos ocupaciones, decidimos venir en familia a apoyar y acompañar a nuestro pollito, cosa que ayer no pudimos hacer porque el carro estaba en el taller, pero resuelto el problema hoy nos vinimos todos y ésta vez el torneo inició bastante puntual a pesar de la cantidad de chicos, lo que requiere muchísima organización, sobre todo al tratarse de niños pequeños, pero ésta gente, sabe lo que hace y a ésta hora 10am ya algunas categorías terminaron la primera ronda.
Un poco más tarde o quizá mañana les estaré contando como le terminó de ir a nuestro Mati en su participación de hoy, rogando que logré sumar otros puntos pues eso le ayuda en lo que es su confianza en cuanto al deporte que decidió practicar. Aunque tanto él como nosotros, estamos conscientes que es súper nuevo en comparación con otros chicos que tienen años jugado, pero la práctica hace al maestro, de ahí la importancia de participar en los torneos, aún cuando no le vaya tan bien como el desea.
