For my Index4Index Daily Inspired Motivation today, I bring you four quotes, by Arnold Swartzenegger, Lakshmi Mittal, Deepak Chopra, and John Maynard, that speak (in humorously contradictory terms) of the importance of being able to operate outside of any preconceived framework or perspective.
"You must think outside the box." - Arnold Swartzenegger
"Always think outside of the box and embrace opportunities that appear, wherever they might be." - Lakshmi Mittal
"Instead of thinking outside of the box, get rid of the box." - Deepak Chopra
"The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones." - John Maynard
We've all heard the term, "think outside the box," yet what does that mean exactly? Thinking outside of a preconceived idea of how things are, how they work, and what's possible or impossible within that framework.
Most of us, when we consider the idea of success, do so within a very narrow range of what we are able to conceive, based on what we have known and what we were taught about "how the world works". Basically, we are playing other people's game on their terms, not ours. Stepping outside of the framework of their game gives us a wider view of what's possible.
The next step toward sovereignty, and therefor true success, however, is completely removing the entire concept of a box in which we "have to" operate, and beginning to decide and initiate things for ourselves, on our own terms, as the divine sovereign creator beings that we in truth are.
In truth we are not bound, but utterly free, regardless of lifetimes of conditioning and programming convincing us otherwise. What would you do if you could do anything? What would you create if you were not bound by concerns of survival and making a living? Who would you choose to be if you had complete freedom and power over your own self-directed being?
Most of the thoughts that we think, most of our desires and goals, and most of our perspectives, and most of our behaviors are not our own, but were installled in us from babyhood on, without us even being aware of it. It behooves us then to revisit and re-examine everything that we think, believe, and do. I doing so we can more easily disentangle those patterns, habits, perspectives, and behaviors that do not in truth serve us, and choose differently.
We, my dear friends, are our only 'box', and it is in truth only from our own limited [boxed in] viewpoint that we must free ourselves. So much more is possible, for us individually, and for our whole species...beyond our wildest dreams and imaginations. Are you ready to free your mind?
Remember, dear friends, that we are all in this together, that we rise by lifting others, and that together we thrive, so onward and upward, joyfully together! 🙏💚⚡💥🔥👣🌱
